    Default Promotional Models

You can make about $20/hour doing promotions in larger cities. The work is very easy!! You dont need much experience, just a headshot and outgoing personality. Here are some companies I have worked for:
    encorenationwide.com
    promomodels.com

The only bad thing is it usually takes 30 days to get paid, but it can be great side work and fun too!

If you want to be a promo model here in SEQ or Australia, signing up with a "promo agency" is the best way... and you usually get paid sooner than 30 days! Usually within a week of doing the gig/booking.

Has anyone done this in the states? I see an ad every so often for a local alcohol promotions company on craigslist, but they say they want 21-28yr of age. Only problem is I'm 37. Everyone pegs me at least 10 yrs younger, but I'm afraid if they see that 3 first, they'll automatically discount me. It would be a nice side paycheck if I can get past that age thing.

I did a bit of promo work, back before I started actual modeling, but I hated it. I like to be paid up front or the same day. A lot of places mail you a check. It can take weeks.

It's also (usually) very boring, and I didn't think $100-200 a day was enough for the long hours and the standing around...even if it was "easy work". This was just my experience....but, blah.

    ^ +1

The last thing I did was a gig for Axe body spray around Valentine's day. I got the job through encorenationwide.com and it was completely legit and I recommend them if you want to do it but it was INCREDIBLY boring. I stood around in a grocery store in a slutty shirt talking about a product I've never even used.

I was supposed to spray little cards with the spray and flirt and talk about Axe. One guy came up to the table and I started on my little spiel and he lifted up his shirt, sprayed it on his underarms, said thanks and walked off.

Eh, I may possibly consider doing liquor promotions but promotional modeling just isn't all that great.

Yeah but the thing is it would seriously upset my hubby if I went back to dancing, and I really don't need the stress and aggravation. I'll go back in a few months if I haven't found steady bartending work, but promo modeling seems like something to fill in that void. Esp since the agencies around here seem to want weekend stuff and that's when I'm off from my main job. *shrug*

I've done it a few times and always found it incredibly boring.

What if somebody really annoying wouldn't leave you alone? Are you stuck in the same place for this job or can you walk around? at the club you can try to avoid people that you dont want to talk to.

What, you mean like retail? Already in that hell, tyvm. I'm just looking for a better paid version.
