    Default Tips for black dancers?

I haven't started dancing yet, but when I do, I want to make as much money as possible. I've read some of the threads on here about racism, and have been scared that I won't do well in the business since I'm a black female. I have shoulder length black hair and very dark brown eyes. Does anybody have any tips for me to help me be appealing to white customers?

You're very pretty. Try some clip in extensions. Most guys love long hair.
Go human hair though...good human hair.

I wear a wig to work that is honey blonde.

    How do you usually dress?

Thanks TM! I have girly/glam/trendy style lol (express, bebe, arden b, guess...). I found an ebay store, Style Wigs, I'm thinking about buying a wig from there soon.

Well I was referring to the at work look.

As a black dancer (I'm 1/2 black) I do feel as if I have to try hard or assimilate to my surroundings. I love my black side now but I do what I do to make money. Whether its a honey blonde wig and dressing a certain way then I'll do it. So far it has been paying off.

Off topic but I've convinced many guys that getting a dance or show with a black girl isn't bad. Same guys have told me this is their first time with a black girl or seeing her naked. So even if you choose to change your appearance rock your skin color.

Doesn't hurt to make your skin look like smooth butta'. Exfoliate, keep the ingrowns away, use good lotion etc.

Not for just black chics but invest in some well fitting stripper outfits once you start making money. The right fit can flatter anyone and make them look 10 times better.

Also, more off topic: if you encounter any assholes who say shit like "I don't get dances from black girls" or other dumb talking out of their ass crap just move on to someone else. Don't let it get you. You are still beautiful inside and out. They are just pre-judgmental assholes. It used to get me down when guys would turn me down but they just don't know what they are missing.

Thanks! Sorry for the stupid reply about my style, lol. I haven't bought any stripper outfits yet, but I want to keep the same glamourous-girly look.

Off topic for body business, but, you'd be surprised how many older white guys go for black girls at the clubs.

As for outfits to start I dont recommend going over the top if it is an average club. shimmery bikinis, skirt sets, and a tube dress will easily get u good attention

Totally true. The custies that I have are older white guys...I've only had 2 black guys buy me drinks...the rest are white. Alot of white guys come into my club especially at night because its usually all black girls...

I honestly don't think you have to make a drastic change in your appearance. If you're personality is cool and you know how to work it on stage, then you'll be fine. And IMO, alot of white guys don't really expect for you to try too hard on stage. You'll be fine.

Yup, I'm not black but I see this all the time. One of the great things about strip clubs is men can "try" something new they may not have in real life

I don't have any advice but the top black girl at my club has long, straight, black hair.

    Hello,
Long hair is important I have seen top earners wear colored contacts lens.
but the get the really good ones. hazel light brown.Think exotic. Now on the issue of hair. get the best quality you can find. oh and for pete sake please stay away form European straight hair. Yaki is good.If you feel you can pull of wavy hair and
    look exotic go for it.
Here is a very good place to get hair. Great selections. Oh and research things to talk about.

Hi there. Keep your skin tone in mind when picking a look.

Im mixed race (black and white, so very light skinned for a black chic). Ive been years so ive had short/long wigs in multiple colors.

I personally have made the most w/ my current look: Long jet black hair and blue/green colored contacts.

A blonde hair and short wigs made me look like a hooker (think Roni from the "player's club" and it killed my money.

    Yup, my reply!

As to how to be appealing to white customers, or any customers for that manner, be well groomed, have nice matching outfits and be well spoken. With those you should do well with any kind of clientelle.

I agree Susan! Make sure you go WELL above and beyond the norm for "white girl" stripper grooming. You have to be on point in EVERYTHING; hair, nails, toes, skin, weight, body, clothing, makeup, teeth, speech, jewelry, outfits, shoes, etc....

Make sure to keep it 100x more classy than any other girl you work with.

I think that's good advice that all SWer's should follow. I'm soooo over seeing girls who don't wear make up, look like they can't be bothered to comb their hair, be physically unfit and wear a top, shorts, t-bar garter and shoes, each in a different color, none of which match.

You don't have to be completely glammed up. My club is very laid back, blue/white colored mix, I don't glam it up with gowns and rhinestones but my hair and make up are done and I wear matching outfits so I do stand out amongst the others.

In my club I'm the only black girl for the most part. There's one more that comes in every other weekend. I do really well. I'm a little heavier than I'd like because I'd taken way too much time off but I still make great money. I would tell you to make sure you find a great club, it makes all the difference. I have very dark skin and my club has black light everywhere, so I wear a lot of white. The contrast on my skin is amazing. I put quite a bit of time into my makeup as well making sure to incorporate lighter colors too. Get comfortable with talking to everyone, no matter what they look like, money is money.

im the ONLY black girl at one of my clubs and at the other the one other black girl looks completely different from me(think goth, very goth) buti love hot neon pink and turquoise and green and all colors. my shoes look good. my toes and natural long nails look good. i dont really GLAM up all the time but i at least put on liner and mascara and my lipgloss has got to be poppin! and the New Yorker in me will always love my big gold hoops. they frame my face well. earring do that to anyone. i always smell good. it could be cheap or expensive guys dint know the difference just dont pile it on. they cant definitely tell that. but if you smell good guys will want to be near you. as far as hair in my avi my hair is str8 and long with razored bangs and auburn on top and chocolate on the bottom. now i have indian remi thats str8 if i want it but most of the time i wear it wild and curly and that you would SWEAR is mine because of my features. im west indian and dominican. so that works for me. dont go to work wearing no blood red plasticy looking tracks and expect classy company. yea? there is really no "`magic" formula for all black girls in the stripping profession just like there isnt really one for any other colors or creeds. just whatever looks flattering on you. experiment with looks at home. in my avi i have FreshLook ColorBlends in GREEN. and it looks damn good on me and natural. my natural eyes are dark brown just like yours. so if ur feelin frisky try some colored contacts. i would stay away from amythyst and baby blue cuz i mean it just doesnt look natural. i dont know anyone black white asian or hispanic with no purple eyes but then again if it fits you and it looks good by all means go for it. your style and charisma will show in how you dress in and outside of the club. dont try to be something you are not. just accentuate your best features. you have a pretty smile str8 teeth and lucious lips then sparkle up that mouth. big bright eyes then slap some falsies and some liner and a touch of shadow and BAM! But remember the most attractive quality no matter what you wear is the confidence that you exude. keep this in mind and you will always be attractive.

sorry so long but i just thought id throw out some heavy hitters for ya!!!!

One of my black coworkers saw a huge leap in her earnings when she started wearing a long, straight black wig.

Also, imo, light colored outfits work wonders on dark skin in the club! The contrast is very eye catching, the same way dark colors look good against pale skin.

    Good luck to you!

Boy, you got that right! When everyone else wants to rock the "fuck it" look (ie. no makeup, bun in hair) while working you simply cannot do it. You have to be top notch and tight everytime you work!

I agree with everything. I too suggest you use longer hair. My hair is all natural and no one EVER sees my 'real' hair. I just bought a new 18in jet black wig. Super sexy!!!

As far as the quote, I've never thought of that...how do you word this to the customer when getting him comfy enough to buy a dance..When I'm on stage, and they look like they wanna tip, I lean over, smile an say, "you aren't scared of me are you" lol...they tip and smile.

tsk tsk. it's such a shame though. tired of having my damn hair trapped in that wig. takes a lot to pic my fro out when i wanna go somewhere, and then to pat it down so i can work.....but this is the real world and this is how we must survive. and our hair being long and straight is really not to please just white customers, our own men have got to have it like that too. it takes a special man to appreciate a natural sister. when men try to talk to me in my wig, i don't respond. i converse only with men who see me as pretty with my lil fro. anyway, back to the topic-make sure your verbs agree.
