    Default joint supplements?

Those of you who take some kind of joint supplement, what do you take? I know whatever I take should include glucosamine, but are some products better than others?

Also...besides a supplement, is there anything else you can do to minimize joint deterioration and pain?

I use Emergen-C Joint Health. It gives me a quick boost, seems to help my immune system and also has Glucosamine and Chondroitin. Tastes pretty good too.

My knees are pretty bad but I find I have way less stiffness and overall discomfort when I have 2-3 packets a day (in water).

I used to take this and it works wonders. It's five pills in a pack and you take it twice a day but it made a major difference. I could tell a difference after a week.

I have problems with my wrists and forearms, which seem to be connective-tissue-related. Glucosamine didn't seem to help much, but MSM is my godsend. It takes a couple of weeks to start working, but I've tried discontinuing it (when I was doing really well, figuring it wasn't all that helpful) and a couple of weeks later my problems started coming back, so now I categorize it as really effective.

Oh, and turmeric is my new best friend, I've added that into the regimen and it helps a bunch too.

Kosher gelatin (Great Lakes or Bernard Jensen brand) -- I mix it in my morning ginger tea! (undetectable)

MELT (read my blog and you'll see what I'm talking about) and drinking more water (with a pinch of celtic sea salt)

I used to use MSM but didn't notice too much of a difference. NOW makes a products that's a mixture of MSM, gleatin, glucosamine/chondroitin. I almost bought some but remembered how nasty msm tastes -- and I like putting gelatine in my tea so ... I'm sticking with the gelatin for a while.

Thanks for the recommendations! I don't have joint issues or pain (knock wood!), but between dancing in the SC and doing ballet/jazz/acro 20-30 hours a week, I should probably be thinking about prevention.

I take Cosamin DS. It's hard to tell if it's making a difference (placebo effect), but I think I'd keep taking it. And (reviews on Amazon) other people seem to think it does something.
