...and I couldn't be happier with myself! I was quite nervy at the beginning of the audition. In fact, my foot slipped a bit and I ALMOST fell! But I pulled my shit together, and I'm so happy with my performance. I start for real in a couple days.
I know, I know. Just what Arizona needs... another newbie stripper. I've read the posts from the ladies in metro Phoenix and Tucson telling how slow it is right now, how many other dancers there are, how hard this is going to be for the forseeable future, and advising other girls to maybe wait until it gets better. But the way I see it, if everyone waited to act until the "right" time, none of us would accomplish anything–nor would we ever grow and evolve as people. I realized there isn't a "right" time. There's only now and what you make of it.
The more rational part of my brain (or was that the nervous part?) was telling me to wait, especially since August and September are especially slow. But I love dancing and performing so much that I just couldn't wait any longer. It didn't feel right. Now, I'm quite pleased with my decision.
