Default Long hair; Up or Down.

I have a job interview later this afternoon at a Plastic Surgeons office for Assistant Office Manager. It's an upscale, luxury office, but overall they are a very friendly staff.

My question is, since it's not a "corporate" position, would I be ok to wear my long hair down? Is it unprofessional?

I personally feel 10 x more confident in my appearence when my hair is down, as it disguises my fat cheeks, so in turn, I think I'd interview better.

i think since its not corporate, down is fine. What about those half up/half down styles?
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

That's true, I didn't think about those. I may just do that.

I love my hair up with my glasses on. I look so bookwormish. hehehe

I think it would be fine with your hair down as long as it's not in your face.

Another vote for half-up half-down. Good luck with the interview!

It's a PS office; they probably want you as hot as possible, so I think long is perfectly fine. Good luck!

I agree with Susan, look as hot as possible but still professional since it's a PS office. I agree with the half up/half down thing too. My hair is a few inches shy of bra strap length but on the last interview I went on, I just pulled the top half of it back with a little clip so it was out of my face and I got the job. I'm sure it was my charm and not my hair... but still

Good luck and let us know how it goes!!

I read somewhere in a body language book that women who prefer wearing their hair down want to thought of as sexy. While women who wear it up want to look "in-charge". Or at least that's the vibe they send out. My vote goes for up, just in case.

I say down. If you feel more comfortable that way then you will interview better. The last time I was at my PS all the women in the office had their hair down, they're all pretty glamorous in fact. Good luck with the interview hon!

Hmm voice of dissent here, I would personally wear long hair up... but the office environments I have worked in were probably more stuffy than a plastic surgeons office... so if its not in your face and it makes you feel more confident, why not down?

Just be sure yiou are not fiddling with it, pulling it out of your face or leaving it laying around after you. In a medical environment you would want to give an impression of clinical cleanliness. IMO. Good luck!

You'd look stunning either way. Personally I feel like office environments are more "hair up" but you feel more comfortable with it down--wear it like that then.
