There are many stereotypes about the industry that I work in. Sometimes they can be true but human beings are very diverse creatures and cannot be pigeon-holed into one category.

Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.

Turkish. I don't know whether I'll learn it as well if it's online coz I guess no one can correct my pronunciation.

For a good beginning foundation, I *highly* recommend the Pimsleur CDs (with accompanying booklet for learning the alphabet and such).

A tutor is definitely better, IMHO...you'll learn much faster, and you won't accidentally drill wrong grammar or pronunciation into your head if you've got someone there to correct you. And it's much less frustrating if you get stuck or confused, to be able to just ask a real person and have them explain something to you. Language tutors aren't expensive; usually around $30 USD for an hour (at least over here...but I can't imagine why they'd cost much more in Australia.)

Good luck! I'm trying to learn Gaelic, but I'm stuck only using Pimsleur, b/c I couldn't find a gaelic tutor around here if my life depended on it, lol.

Thanks. I agree about the tutor.Im searching right now to see if there are any group classes for beginners in my area, if not ill look for a tutor.

I had a look at the Turkish alphabet online and some phrases. It looks difficult but I'm up for a challenge!!

Learn how to say the important things, like "I would create goals in your mother's pussy and play soccer there day and night".

huh...nothing that funny on the Gaelic page...they just have about 20 different slang words for fat people.

"У тебя что руки из ёпи растут?" (are your hands growing from your ass? in Russian) I...soo...need to find an occasion to say that in real life.

I tried Pimslur too for German-It worked pretty well.
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

What about Rosetta Stone? They are used even by the government and major corporations to teach new languages.

according to consumer reports (they did an article last month on them) rosetta stone is the best because its the most intuitive way to learn a langauage-too bad its so damn exoensive, or i'd be a polyglot by now

You can buy used Rosetta Stone on Ebay for alot cheaper than new. I have been seriously considering buying a used version their Spanish program. I'll do a review if or when I get around to trying their program.
