    Default Chasing the plastic dragon...

I've been glued to awfulplasticsurgery.com all night. It's fascinating to me that having all the money in the world and access to any doctor and any facility still does not guarantee a good result.

What does "growing old gracefully" really mean? The dude on APS is always calling out women who are trying to nip, tuck, and lift their way back to the way they looked at 25. But then you'll also hear him say that so-and-so is looking old. It seems you can't win. What is the right balance between holding on to youth and embracing your age.

I'm curious what all of you think about cosmetic surgery and growing old gracefully. I suppose this goes for all types of enhancements, not just the ones designed to restore youth. What amount of work or types of procedures is right to keep a fresh appearance? What makes you think someone looks "over done"? What would make you consider work? Do you plan on it?

On a tangential note, it boggles my mind that most celebrities attempt to conceal and deny their procedures. WHY? WTF does it matter? Plus, not that this matters, but everyone is doing it. Why wear giant glasses to night events to hide eye work or announce that you've "broken your ankle" and emerge with a new set of tits? I don't get it. How can plastic surgery be, like, the thing of the moment and simultaneously still taboo?

I agree that celebs should just admit to it. I always respect them far more when they have that "yeh I did it, so what?" attitude.

I have had rhinoplasty, otoplasty (ear pinning) and breast augmentation. I wanted to look better. I guess in my case it wasn't about looking younger.

I am def considering botox to prevent wrinkles but I dont think I'd ever do something like a facelift coz people seem to be left looking weird after that procedure.

I think the term "growing old gracefully" is usually used to mean naturally without surgery.

It is ridiculous tho that growing old gracefully is given credit yet people complain and criticise as soon as they notice a slight wrinkle on the face of a celeb. No one can win!! It's the same with weight. Stars are criticised for being overweight and then if they get too thin they get criticised for that too.

I think someone looks overdone when they have a frozen look on their face. I met a girl recently who has had so much botox that her face has this odd, distorted looking about it. It's hard to put into words exactly what it was but something just didn't look right about her.

There are many stereotypes about the industry that I work in. Sometimes they can be true but human beings are very diverse creatures and cannot be pigeon-holed into one category.

Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.
