The fighting partbut i do believe the running off the rich old white guys part. Whenever i see white guys whose extreme love of black strippers make them gather the courage to come into the black club they always look very nervous and if anything even looks like its about to pop off they'll quickly leave. In a southern club if the dj plays a certain artists song (Young Jeezy mostly) the whole club, customers and dancers, will start reciting the lyrics. Everytime i've seen this happen if there were any white customers there by the time the song ends they are gone
What the heck? Why are these white customers scared of black guys because they are singing a song? In all my years of stripping, I have NEVER EVER seen anything bad happen to a white guy at the hands of a black guy in the strip club.
Club managers are kinda out of touch. At Hustler in Baltimore, we could only dance to white 80's music and horrible horrible techno during the day. I couldn't get Prince (except "Kiss") or any good rock, or and R&B.
OP - Prince is a good choice for upbeat, sexy music.
"A stupid man's report of what a clever man says is never accurate because he unconsciously translates what he hears into something he can understand." - Bertrand Russell
"It's just a matter of people having low self esteem and being way too easily offended." -Random Guy on a Internet Forum
In other words: Boo-motherfucking-hoo

Many, many clubs fire DJs for being good, it is true. Also a lot of clubs get pissed off if the dancers like the DJ too much.
Worst of all, though--showing obvious signs of any unusual intelligence.
Prince should be OK almost anywhere, I would think, except maybe at the redneck clubs.
The truth of the matter is, I probably play about 30% rap and R & B, I just tend to shy away from the really hardcore stuff, with certain exceptions ( I fucking love Gorilla Zoe for instance). Cuing out when the guys use the word 'bitches' to describe women, for example, does tend to foment a more respectful attitude towards the dancers.
To deny the misogynistic element in a lot of hard-core rap would be willfully blind. This is the reason I am careful about what I play, and also a desire to play music that the customers who are actually spending a lot of money on the dancers want to hear. In my ten years experience, I have learned that the guys spending a lot of money generally don't want hard core rap. Maybe in Miami it's different. Fine, I don't work there and probably never will.
I will not have punks of any race in my club, treating the dancers like bitches.
If I were to be accused of willful ignorance towards any musical genre, it would be country. I hate the vast majority of country, I know very little about it, and I very, very rarely play it.
Besides, those country guys all have huge cocks, I hear, it's so intimidating...

I used to refuse to dance to anything but rap for years when I was in the midwest and I was pretty upset when I moved to Dallas and worked at clubs where it was allowed. But I started to find that not only did I enjoy dancing to AC/DC, Kid Rock, Korn, and some other rock, but I made a lot more money! There are some clubs around here where I could dance to rap, but I think those clubs attract gold teeth, not gold cards. (most guys with gold teeth want girls with a little more booty) I recently went back to a club that I danced at for a year in Nebraska for a couple nights and instead of dancing to rap like i used to, I danced to rock and the crowd responded so much better than they used to! I wonder if I had danced to rock a long time ago how much more money I could have made.
Does anyone else notice a change in your money when you switch your music?
Here are a few of my new favorites that other hip hop heads might like to try:
-Hells Bells, Back In Black, and almost anything by AC/DC
-Fuck You Blinde, Early Morning Stoned Pimp, Cadillac Pussy by Kid Rock
-Dirty Diana, Billie Jean, PYT Remix ft Will I Am, The Girl Is Mine remix ft Will I Am by Michael Jackson
-Blinde, Freak On a Leash by Korn
-Killing In the Name Of by Rage Against the Machine
-Feel Good Inc by Gorillaz
-Sweet Dreams, The Dope Show, Beautiful People, New Shit by Marilyn Manson
-Rag Doll, Come Together, Pink by Aerosmith

so just quick update the no rap music rule at my club is going really well but i have played some pop and hip hop for some of my better tippers and now all the dancers see that they make more money now then they did and dont care what i play. so thanks for all the help.
P.S
djoser thanks for the advice.
Have you thought about Atmosphere, I particularly like Glasshouse, maybe it could slide by.

last night, since we were dead @ work , my boss let us dance to whatever. i actually enjoyed hearing some old rap songs like back that azz up! lol!!! good times!

wtfe. finally went back to work after two months off and guess what,no hip hop rap or r&b. white men are so effing scary it makes me sick. dj at my club says rap exploits women. and what the fu** is a strip club if not exploitive? then sitting w/customers talkin shit about Obama guess it is what it is. scary ass white men. and djoser: sorry its taken so long to reply but gustav kept me off line for a minute. i've been listening and listening for all those dick sucking references and even in the most hardcore gangsta rap cant find more than a few if any and usually its metaphorical. guess its much better if your are actually face to face with some fu**wit asking you personally to sick his dick cause he has a credit card and pale skin and prob. his dick is pretty small anyway so ya won't gag. i always feel so empowered by that.
cant ya just call it whatt it is? racist. yup RACIST. R A C I S T. who cares if they have gold effing teeth. most thugs give me far more respect than whities. because they have respect for the hustle. it is fairly obvious you have some issues with other races djoser. just keep it real. its ok. ignorance comes in all colors.

Who's racist? White men scare you and they have little dicks? Cherishing this stereotype makes you feel powerful?
I don't know what color you are, but you seem to have some serious issues of your own. Ignoramce transcends color boundaries, and you have just proved it again.

scary as in: they are scared love. it is repeated a few times in this thread ,old white men getting scared and leaving...
yah ok maybe the dick thing is stereotyping kind of rude on my part too ....but true in general. and that was meant to be sarcastic dear as in knarly white dudes trying to get me to suck their dicks = less than empowering, sorry you missed that.
and yeah i have issues. issues with anyone who thinks a gang war will kick off cause a little rap hip hop or god forbid r&b gets played or anyone who says r&b is too slow but will play some frank sinatra.?
or that old white dudes get down to nine inch nails i wanna fu** u like an animal?? seriously..
but as far as my skin nope. no issues. nor with anyones for that matter. certainly don't ever refer to as group of people as "wetback" either sugar :or ever call a successful rapper "illiterate" ?!?wtf?!? that don"t make no kinda sense hon. ignorance or not thats just um..um.. not so smart?
drama gingerlee? drama? if banning a certain type of music isn't dramatic i'm not really sure what is then. i really don't know what to say to that sweetheart.

not all rap is like that and you'd be surprised what type of guys (i.e. not Black or much of any pigment of that matter-get my drift) KNOWS how to do the "soulja boy" dance or attempts it anyway because; a. they're just havin a good time, and most rap is somewhat mainstream so they've heard it; or b. a really lamo-cheeseball doesn't know how to just come out and say he wants some cocoa over his way, lmao
one way my DJ tried to solve a similar problem (no "rap" before 12) was using the club version of rap classics (like "Bust a Move", corny shit like that, but can get the party started for the cornier Black guys who tend to go to clubs like that, lol *ForgiveMeButIt'sTrue!*). Newer songs have them too- we could usually get away with a few 4 me during the day. Funk and 80's TechnoR&B stuff like Cameo is really sexy to older white guys (4 black girls of course!) they always tell me i remind them of a young *insertoldr&bdivahere* back in the day- but my legs help too, lol.... A real entertainer should be able to dance to whatever she's given- that's my opinion tho-just 4 me in my world![]()
I sure this is temporary. But here are some songs that you may like:
1. Beyonce's album "B'day": "Kitty Kat", "Hollywood", "Get Me Bodied", "Freakum Dress", "Greenlight"
2. Black Eyed Peas "My Humps"
3. Cassie "Long Way 2 Go" & "Me & U"
4. Chris Brown "Kiss Kiss"
5. Diddy "Diddy Rock (featuring Timbaland)
6. Danity Cane "Sleep On It" and "Showstopper"
7. Enur "Calabria"
8. Fergie "Fergalicious", "Glamorous", "Labels or Love"
9. Gwen Stefani "Now That You Got It", "Yummy", "Wind It Up"
10. Katy Perry "I Kissed A Girl"
11. Kelis "Bossy"
12. Rihanna "Umbrella", "Shut Up & Drive", "Disturbia"
13. Selena Serrano "Waiting"
14. The Dream "I Love Your Girl"

In ten years on the job I have yet to see any old white men getting scared and leaving because I played some rap or R & B. Some of them may have left because they thought the music sucked, though. I do try to avoid anyone leaving who is there to spend money and respect the dancers.
Sorry, it's just funny you thought that I don't like rap because I have a teeny weenie pee-pee.![]()
Or that it might be the real reason a lot of people don't like rap. It's not helping you get your point across, and makes you seem hypocritical.
But you probably don't have to take issue with me, since tonight for example I played probably 40% R & B and rap. I do not play slower R & B during peak hours as it lowers the energy level and that is the one thing the owner has asked me to be careful of. I have yet to play Frank Sinatra in any club.
Well I'm sorry, you don't sound too smart in the passage above. But I have read some of your other posts, you are a good-hearted person.
I don't give a fuck how much money someone makes singing rap songs, 'yo shawty' as a form of address wasn't taught in any school I went to, or have heard of. If that's the way they write as well as rap, they are functionally illiterate.
Not to say that all rockers sound smart or anything--a lot of them are obviously illiterate as well. I won't play any rock where the guys sound really stupid, either.
But this is growing tiresome. The OP had a problem, the problem was apparently solved according to his last reply. I am leaving this open for now though.

1. I think Djoser would have been fired from every club I've worked at for any length of time for being "too good". It's true.
2. MissAlethea, I did the pinup thing for the longest time and would get songs like that "My hips, my back, my pussy and my crack" song ALL the time. Or like that "I need a bitch/a prostitute" song. Then the next girl up would get Amy Winehouse.I hate SC DJs by and large.
3. piepie, you are delightful.
The End.

old white men leaving:i was merely pointing out what had been said earlier in the thread.i have seen more black men leave on account of the music than anything.
sweety what makes me sound less intelligent the "don't make no kinda sense part"? that was a joke.
yo shawty is SLANG darling, a street term. and no they don't have that in school books. it is just a language thing baby. every language has slang that varies by locale. did they teach you "wetback" in your history class honey?
its not an issue with you personally (the dj where i work played the frank sinatra and said r&b was too slow al in the same night) just an issue with across the board thought processes where there is a lack of experience.
and yeah it is tired. it's 2008 . feels like 1952 sometimes. separation of people by class or color is the most effective form of government. while everyone is busy pointing fingers and using racial slurs the gov can commit atrocities and the public wont even notice.
thanks Dottie Rebel![]()

"Sweety...darling...baby...honey..."
It appears that there is an issue with me personally if you repeatedly use false terms of endearment in a condescending and therefore insulting manner, but we'll let that go.
What makes you sound less intelligent is the fact that you have trouble writing coherent sentences, as you have proven repeatedly in this thread. Your spelling, grammar, syntax, and punctuation are extremely poor. But it's just a language thing, so let's not worry about that either.
The first time I heard the term 'wetback' was from my best friend in college, who happened to be Cuban. The illegal aliens who murdered my best friend in Daytona years later were of course vile scum who deserve to die extremely painful deaths, but maybe describing them as a 'wetback gang' was wrong.
So I will apologize to the entire forum for using the term 'wetback gang' to describe the murderers who were here in the USA illegally, also guilty of robbery, and sexual assault on a nightly basis--I had to stop them repeatedly from assaulting the dancers, and had to help throw them out. Which means they would have tried to shoot me as well as my friends, but I couldn't make it in time. So yeah, I suppose my experience led me to use derogatory slang,
Unlike complementary slang such as 'shawty' or 'bitch'.
The putos both got life without parole, though, so they will no doubt have fun being some motherfuckers' bitches for a long time.
"...an issue with across the board thought processes where there is a lack of experience."
Again, extremely poor syntax, but I think I get what you are trying to say.
I have already described my experience in getting management to allow R & B and rap by avoiding hardcore music or cuing it in, instead of just playing the fucking classic rock all night. But let's hear a few words from the OP, describing his experience, after taking my advice and the advice of people with similar experience:
So it appears this thread has served it's purpose. Case closed...
