Default HELP is my contact lost in my eye?

I'm freaking out. I had the worst fucking night ever, I had killer cramps so I went home early. I was frantically rubbing my makeup off with one of those makeup remover towellette things and I felt my contact slide around and when I looked it was gone (i wear light green contacts at work). My eye was super irritated so I finished cleaning off my makeup, took the other colored one out and put in my normal (i can sleep in them for up to a month) contacts.

now... I'm freaking out becuase I can't find the colored contact anywhere, and my eye is still irritated like there's something in there. I spent 10 minutes freaking out pulling my eye lids open and looking for the colored contact but it was nowhere to be found- if I didn't see it, it can't be in the back of my eyeball right?? that's anatomically impossible right?? I'm freaking out that it's stuck back there and i'm going to get some kind of infection and go blind. ugh.... It's impossible for it to be stuck in the back of my eye right?? It's probably just on the floor somewhere ( i looked... frantically and didn't find it).

    anyone know?? help!!!

Did you try putting in eye drops and blinking hard? I don't think you are going to go blind.

I read something about putting another contact, and then the 2 will come together...
"Can my contact lens get lost behind my eyeball?
A contact lens that slips off the corneal surface of the eye and moves under the eyelid cannot go far. The conjunctiva, a clear lining that covers the inner surface of the eyelids, forms a small sac or pouch between the eyelid and the eye to contain the eye's tears. The "lost" contact lens can go only as far as the edge of this sac, not behind the eyeball. Usually you can gently manipulate the contact lens back into place. If the lens is difficult to retrieve, you may need to flush your eye with sterile saline. Your eye doctor can advise you on safe methods of retrieving a "lost" contact lens."

ew. I got it. It was like.........folded over and as far as it possibly could go back. what an awful experience. thanks for the saline advice.....that's what made it appear out of nowhere.... seriously it looked like there was nothing in my eye. but i knew it was there.... stupid contact.

^^ Yep. And no matter what they say, it still has risks.

A few years back my eye doctor made my DH look through the microscope thing into my eyeball while he explained that even the contacts that are made for extended wear cut off oxygen to your eyes. The veins in the eye starve and start spreading out looking for more. They move towards the pupil of the eye (towards light??) and when they hit, they cause blindness. It is irreversible. He said even if I stopped wearing them overnight right then (I did, DH would never allow it lol), the damage was already done. DH said it looked like a bunch of squiggly lines running through my eyes. Very scary. Now a couple years later, my eyes still have the veins in them but they aren't filled with blood anymore. The veins have the right amount of oxygen and the 'feelers' stopped moving. DH says now they look like little white lines in my eyes and the DR calls them 'ghost veins'.
Now I'm so used to taking them out every day I can't sleep in them at all. Too uncomfortable.
