Thumbs up The Best DJs You Ever Worked With

I've been thinking about this, how much better it is to work with a bangin DJ than to work with a miserable one who terrorizes new girls and has dead air all the time, haha. There is such a difference!

So heres the best DJs I ever worked with!

#3: At my last club, the one DJ would seriously play some of the best, most fun music ever. It was mostly rap, and I'm a die-hard rock fan, but I went through a serious rap-listening phase when I was working there! Every time I'd come to work, I couldn't not get into a fun party mode when he DJd. Even getting ready in the DR was so fun, I couldn't wait to get downstairs! Also, he wasn't a psycho either and could handle things very well (even though he got drunk a lot, haha). Laid back!

#2: The weekday DJ I currently work with. Besides being cool (and quirky!), he is also an actual light technician and can seriously hide every inch of my cellulite. I've had guys tell me I look "so toned" on stage, when I haven't been to the gym in like 2 months almost (I know I know). Plus, he will only play upbeat music when there's a crowd....I hate when DJs play something somber and depressing when its poppin. He can also extend songs to make a set longer, but his extended songs/remixes sound SO GOOD, you'd never know he fucked with it to begin with.

#1: When I worked in LA, I worked with this DJ who would take girls off stage when the customers weren't tipping enough. When guys were being douches, he would stop the song and say "Look, if you guys don't get some money on that stage now, I'm gonna take her off the stage." Worked everytime!!!! We made a lot of money too on stage. Nothing, NOTHING will ever beat that!!

my favorite DJ ever is the weekend-night DJ at one of my old clubs. He's got the best music ever, knows how to play a great mix of different types of music and gets the energy going (and keeps it up all night) like no one else can. Working with him is just FUN.

And he's hilarious and a nice person, and always seems to be in a good mood at work. He's a club DJ outside of the SC, so he's got all kinds of obscure club music. I loved that I could just say "I like techno, just play me whatever" and I'd get the most amazing techno songs ever onstage. Usually stuff that I'd never heard before, which is awesome. I love discovering new music, and he was always spot-on picking songs for me that he thought I'd like. He's the only one I've ever been able to do that with--I usually have to tell DJs exactly what I want to hear, or else my stage music is a disaster.

Then there was the DJ at my most recent club who also played a great high-energy mix of music, and was uber-cute and flirted with me. Bonus! He was the only good DJ that club has, so working with him after hearing crap from all the other DJs was like a breath of fresh air.

My favorite DJ was a woman who berated the customers if they didn't tip or clap and she was hilarious too. xx

The best DJ I worked with (when I still danced on stage) coined this poem for me, and said it whenever I went up
    "Setting your heart on fire
    With desire
    Pull out your money
    For Sapphire!"
Its stupid but I liked it. Now my favorite dj is anyone that doesn't put me up on stage
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

The best one I ever worked with had a great personality and was just sooo nice to work with. Not an egomaniac at all or constantly grubbing for tips.
Turns out he was into dressing like a chick on his off time. I never saw it, but when i moved I gace him a wig and some clothes. He was great!

I really like our weekday daytime DJ...For some reason he just makes you feel comfortable the instant he's around - not sure why! The first few weeks, he calmed my nerves with a smile and a wink. He was also the DJ who started me on the songs I currently dance to ("my songs"). I think he reads the dancers really well, and paired my music with me wonderfully. I haven't seen him in awhile, since moving to early evenings - and I miss him!

There was a DJ at Blue Zebra in Van Nuys that had really good taste and we always put together killer sets for me to dance to. I wish I could remember his name.

My favorite DJ of all time will always be Matty from Cheetah's in Los Feliz. He's a grumpy and antisocial sonofabitch but he was like family with all of us. He drove me home a few times, and always refused tips if it was a bad night.

Someday I'd love to work with Djoser and Mr. Christopher!

    Myself!

    No wait... ummm other DJs?

There was a really awesome DJ at DiCarlos. He was witty, he knew music VERY well, and he had a great voice. He knew just how long to stay on the mic too.

Hmm... MrC is def one of the best i've worked with.

Also Flipper at Whiskey in Toronto. He was a cranky asshole but he was awesome at picking music for me. Same with Super Dave at Whiskey.

Another is Scott at The French Maid in Calgary. He is an AWESOME techno DJ and he does a killer awesome light show.

There are so many great DJs that i've worked with. I seem to get along with lots of DJs so I rarely have problems.

The best DJ I ever worked with was from a club that had been closed for nearly a year. We hadn't worked together in 8 months and I was amazed that he was able to remember which songs I liked dancing to. The next DJ is one I'm still working with. I was impressed that he remembered a couple of songs I like after I had quit working there for 2 years. Then there's DJ #3 who happens to be friends with DJ #2. They're great to work with and they never jump down your throat when you can't tip at the end of the night or can only tip a small amount.

I work with a great one right now; he's a good DJ, a fun person, and never gets wasted and fucks up at work, which along with dead air are the two things that annoy me.

When you're at clubs where you have a lot of stage time, it's so nice to have a great DJ. I show them my appreciation the way it matters, with money, heh. You guys rock!

I've worked with Djoser and thought he was a blast! I've never had a DJ play me so much Disturbed (my favorite band) before! The other bands he played for me were my taste too (not like other DJs when I tell them hard rock/metal and get pop alternative) and he encourages customers to get rooms/dances and to tip.

The main club I worked with in Baltimore had pretty good DJs and although they weren't allowed to mention tipping, they would try to play music that fit the crowd and keep their energy up over the microphone.

Seriously....when I first started working there, I'd prowl the internet every night looking for these extended remixes he made of some songs. Then he told me he did them himself!! Seriously, the way he tweaks songs is BANGIN. He is the entire reason i now love techno!

My very first club. DJ Rob at Rockstar's in CT was awesome. He and I both love rock and metal music, so he would play some awesome music for me - MM, NIN, Rob Zombie, etc etc. I frigin loved it.

He and I became real good friends when we found out that his cousin was one of my classmates. Whenever I'm back in CT, I always try to catch a show by his band or go out to a bar with him.

He is also the only person I have kicked accidentally with my heel. haha.

Well actually, it was the Playpen! This was almost 3 years ago, so I have no idea what its like now or if that DJ is still there. It has a seriously bad rep, I'm sure lots of extras went on there, really bad part of town, etc. I didn't work there for too long (got into a car accident on my way there one night actually), but that was the one club I actually made more than $300 a night everytime I worked! And I'll never forget the DJ

I too would like to work with Djoser - we've known eachother on SW since 2002 and I really like him as a person - so working with him would be a treat.
Oh ya Flipper at the Whiskey LOL, ya he was good but sometimes talked too much and growly talk where it was hard to understand what he said? But could be a lot of fun at times. :o)
