    Default Stripping and social events

Can some of you share your experiences when you have gone to a social event where people knew before hand that you were a stripper?

I dont tell people about being a stripper unless I feel comfortable but it appears that it has been revealed anyway. Im just wondering how people might react esp women??

There are many stereotypes about the industry that I work in. Sometimes they can be true but human beings are very diverse creatures and cannot be pigeon-holed into one category.

Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.

I have (high school reunion) but also many many other times; best advice would be as long as you don't make it an issue; it won't be one! Another tip would be to become interested in other's lives, asking the women about their jobs, pets and lives will take the focus off of you.

You'll get different reactions depending upon each person's belief system. I use to always change the subject if it came up. It's really none of their business.

People will take their cues from you...if you act like it's no big deal, others will follow your lead (or at least shut up, even if they're judging you in their minds. )

f you act embarrassed, uncomfortable or defensive, then anyone who's inclined to make a big deal about it will sense your insecurity and go in for the kill.

Me too. It's something I have to attend with my partner tho. I always expect the worst from women, hopefully they wont bring it up.
