When you are weight lifting, how much is too much pain? I have a really hard time working through the burn, I HAVE to pause. It feels like my body won't let me move until the pain fades a bit. Is this normal or am I lifting weights incorrectly?

There's a HUGE difference between "the burn" and pain.
When you're lifting, the last reps in your set should be difficult to do. The last rep, you should have to strain a bit, your arms may shake a little, but that's it. There should not be "pain".
If there's any shooting/stabbing pain, or extreme soreness the next day even though you have a regular weight-lifting routine, you are either lifting far too heavy, or are lifting incorrectly.
When I first started working out and lifting weights I couldn't even sit. I had to fall into everything because my legs were so bad. they see eat bananas and drink a lot of water. it should eventually go away in a couple of weeks. each week should get better.
