All They Want is Sex.
Why will he want to pay for just a lap dance when he knows he can get the
dancer to leave with
him, have sex with him, or blow him in the back of the club, etc.?
We've all heard this excuse at one time or another. Let's take a closer look
at the truth of it.
First of all we have to remember we are in the "strip tease" business.
Let's define that.
American Heritage Dictionary
v. stripped, strip·ping, strips
1. To remove clothing or covering from.
2. To deprive of (clothing or covering).
American Heritage Dictionary
v. teased, teas·ing, teas·es
1. To annoy or pester; vex.
2. To make fun of; mock playfully.
3. To arouse hope, desire, or curiosity in without affording satisfaction.
The strip part is certainly true enough and easy to understand. The tease
part is a bit more complex.
The definition that probably best applies to our job description is:
#3. To arouse desire and curiosity without affording satisfaction
It's no secret that men will have internal fantasies as they watch us
perform, especially during the intimate nature of lap and table dances. What's
important regarding our role here, is to support their temporary fantasy, while
at the same time, not engaging in the all-too-common and deceitful practice
of letting them intellectually believe they really have a shot at sex with us.
In this way our customers remain responsible for their own thoughts, their
own fantasies. And it releases the dancer of any responsibility for
following through in reality.
Besides, the truth is that men's sexual imagination is greater than their
sexual power. Men's sexual peak happens at about 17 years of age. And some
studies suggest that by the time they are 40, up to half of all men have some
kind of erectile dysfunction.
Secondly, sex is not that scarce of a commodity. In fact it is everywhere in
all kinds of forms from street walkers to high dollar escorts, from lonely
cougars at the local watering hole to young, insecure girls new to dating who
feel they have to prove their attractiveness or "put out" to repay a man for
buying dinner. And don't forget the men who happen to have wives or
girlfriends, women who, if they were shown some decent attention, would gladly spend
an evening of romance with their men.
Thirdly, we live in a goal oriented society so it somewhat goes against our
conditioning to just let go and enjoy the moment without trying to force it
to become something more. Sometimes guys just feel un-masculine if they don't
at least ask for sex, even if they really didn't want the worries and
responsibility that goe with the actual act.
There are a small percentage of customers who come to the clubs solely
seeking sex, but very often for these guys it's really only about the thrill of
the hunt, since sex can be found easier and cheaper elsewhere.
The truth is that most men, especially strip club customers--no matter what
they say--just want some attention and to be made to feel special.
