yea it was good after katrina because there was mainly only relief workers there and fema checks got handed out, nola didn't get much for this storm....and I can tell you right now, nola and Baton Rouge are hard right now, Fema pretty much didnt hand out anything this time, everything they said they would pay for, they changed after the storm

Hello,
What clubs would you recommend working at GirlWithTheMost? And how are the clubs during Mardi Gras?
I try to work at the more locals centered clubs, or locally owned.
Temptations, visions, stillettos...
I've worked at my club for 3 years and the locally owned ones dont have outrageous house fees.
on another note...Joy, are you in BR cause I am and I'm wondering if we've worked together.
For the last couple of weeks I have been itching for a vacation and now that I am making money at my club out here I can afford to take a working vacation. I have wanted to go to New Orleans for years!! After reading the posts on here I take it that Penthouse is the best club to try for. Any advice for a 2nd and 3rd just in case? Also can you recommend a good place to stay? Should I rent a car or will a taxi do? Thinking of going end of Oct. beginning of Nov. for a few days or a week.
Kisa- you can find a breakdown of answers to your questions in searches. you def won't need a car. Most things are within walking distance and cabs are cheap here. If those are your chosen dates you'll want to get on reserving a place ASAP because the hotels will all book up for the Voodoo Music Experience. For a cheaper route go with www.indiahousehostel.com or you can always call any of the Hustler clubs for rates on their "haunted hotel". I've never stayed, but friends have and they said it is cheap. Penthouse is pretty great but I've got a real problem with that super evil "Westbank Posse" of vietnamese girls who ruin every time I go there. Ugh.

Penthouse is severly overstaffed right now. I'm talking Mardi Gras amounts of girls.

I've worked at Temptations and Ricks. I'm thinking of heading back during the early part of the year.
temptations is off the chain right now
i worked last saturday for the first time in about 8 months and made about 800
they changed our rules on vips so we can charge what we want.
free market enterprise for strippers!!
Well, shit. Maybe I should try Temptations. I made $400 at Hustler last night. It was so incredibly dead. Granted, I didn't start until almost midnight but STILL. I made half of that by going on stage and molesting women. Blech. What is the tipout at Temptations? It is a gorgeous club but so small....
I've danced at a ton of clubs in new orleans. I'm always jumping from club to club.
Penthouse - IMO the best club in the city. Management is great, low house fees, and the club itself is clean and nice. The drinks and dances are more expensive than any other club, which keeps the riff raff out. I've worked there off and on since it opened after katrina, and always made money, even when there were more girls than customers. guys spend money in this joint. Also, they don't run dance specials or make you do a cattle call walk around the stage every hour. It's a real gentlmen's club. Private dances are 40 and you keep 30 which is higher than any other club.
Hustler - I worked here for many years, and watched it go steadily downhill until I couldn't stand it anymore. Their house fees were outrageous already, and then they doubled them after katrina. The djs are not allowed to encourage tipping at the stage, because the club doesn't get any of that money. they run all kinds of stupid promotions that result in the club filling up with broke ass kids and their jealous girlfriends. They run specials all the time that are such a rip off for the girls, I don't even know where to start. They are also very strict about making you work a full seven hour shift, which I find ridiculous since you're paying crazy house fees and they take more than half your money from vips. I could say more horrible things about this place, but I still have friends who work there.
Temptations - This place I'm torn on. I liked working there, because the other girls and staff were super cool and the fees were low, but it is a notorious whorehouse. I found a used condom in the vip room after an hour of telling a guy "this is a strip club, not a brothel." I had customers get pissed when I refused to do "stuff" in vip, and actually say things like, "man i should have brought so and so back here. she does stuff." Now, I'm ok with girl hooking or doing whatever they want in a club, but I simply can't compete with it. If you can, then you can make a lot of money here. They also have a weird stage with the pole like two inches away from the end of the runway. it's hard to dance on. Stilletos is owned by temptations and its pretty much the same. girls would go back and forth between the clubs in the middle of the night.
Ricks - This club is fine, but not as good as penthouse. the house fees are higher, the clientele isn't as loose with their money, and there is no pole on the stage. You can pay 20 dollars to not go on stage. At most other clubs, you can just ask the dj, and he'll keep you off.
The deja vu clubs - barely legal, showgirls, and little darlins. all owned by the same people as hustler and have the same issues. The biggest problem with these clubs is the staff. everytime I try to work at one of them, i get in a fight with someone. From what I understand, the owners are such micro-managing assholes, that the managers are in constant fear of losing their job or bonus, which makes them act like assholes to their staff, which makes the staff act like assholes to everyone. It's just not worth it to put up with all the crap when you have penthouse right around the corner.
my dj at my club told me that there is a tranny strip club in new orleans, is that true? im transsexual btw
house fees change throughout the night depending on what time you get there. since i commute if youre on the floor by 8, theres no house fee, then i think its 10, 25, and 30...
plus a 5$ tipout for the house mom and tipping the dj
pm me if youre still in town, ill be coming in this weekend

I worked at Hustler after Katrina and I did wonderful there every night I worked. I was bouncing between Hustler and Barley Legal and ironically did better at Hustler. I was always in the champagne rooms, constantly. I couldn't sell a 30 dance if i wanted too. I didn't leave a night there without making 700 after the house fee. And to me 40 was a low low low house fee. My house fee up here in chicago was 140 at its hightest reg shift and 90 at its lowest reg shift. Haven't been there in a long time though so I don't know how it is now.
Hi. I'll be arriving in Nola this Wednesday, Oct. 22. I'm wondering what the auditions are like at the better rated clubs (Penthouse, Temptations, etc.). Can I expect to work walking in the door? I've been hired the same night in Vegas and in Los Angeles.
Does anyone know how long it takes to get on the schedule for the top earning clubs?
Super appreciate any helpful answers.... thanks!!!
You will be able to work at any club as soon as you fill out your paperwork. It works like Vegas except they are generally nicer to girls here as there are less of them. As long as you're good looking enough there should be no problem at any of the top clubs although I would try to show up right when Penthouse opens if you want to go there as they have a lot of girls at the moment.
Wednesday there should amateur night at Deja Vu where you win $300 I think, if you're into that sort of thing. I won it at Hustler when I started working here over 3 years ago and then proceeded to make another $1200 on a Wednesday. Damn, were those the days....I miss them, curse you Katrina + economy.
I don't think there is a tranny strip club. There is a bar where boys dance for tips on stage. There are tranny bars too, but no clubs. Are you post-op? If so, depending on the stage you are in the process there are more flexible strip clubs that would certainly cater to you. I worked in Hawaii with the hottest transsexual, whoa. She was so gorgeous! I knew but I'm guessing most men would never pick up on it.

Also, I might just not know about it but there are little SCs off Bourbon Street that are old and divey, and maybe one of them is known for transsexuals but I don't know about it. Also, I did a little research for you and it seems that there used to be one but it has been gone for several years. I can ask around for you tomorrow when I go to Drag KING night. Yesssss.

When you audition, remember to bring your ID card and social security card. Some places don't check, but others can be strict. It's been years since Ive auditioned, so I don't remember which is which.
