Default What to do when dancers step on your toes?

Ok, I new to this board and after months of lurking I feel comfortable enough to share some of my thoughts.

So, why not start with a venting post?

I work in Vegas at a very busy club. There are often 200-500 girls working during my shift. I work with many sick hustlers in an extremely competitive club with many gorgeous girls. I try to avoid drama at all cost, but lately I've had a few encounters of 'bad stripper etiquette'.

For instance, last night I walked up to two guys that were standing at one of the bars. My friend was paired up with one, so I decided to start selling to the guy that was available. We were standing very close to each other and it was obvious that he was interested in me. In the middle of our conversation two girls came up and interrupted us! I decided to take the "high road" and not get catty with them because I'm not into confrontation, especially in front of a customer. Luckily, he turned down their offer and ended up going with me to VIP shortly after.

He did say that it was a turnoff for those girls to be so blatantly rude and disrespectful to me. He also said that he did a dance with one of the girls earlier in the night, but I still thought that it was unacceptable behavior.

What is even worse is that these girls were giving me the evil eye when they walked up and after the incident. I've never worked with either of them and to my knowledge they have no reason to have animosity towards me.

Should this type of behavior be tolerated? I've heard of cat fights taking place over these types of situations. Did I do the right thing by not reacting and ignoring their low and desperate attempts to steal my customer?

I'm sure many of you girls have been in my shoes. I just don't want these girls to think that they can treat me like a doormat.

Thanks for taking your time to read my post. I've learned so much from this amazing forum.

Just ignore, and make your money.

Girls try to throw you off your hustle all the time. Ignore it and keep going. You def. handled that the right way.

You're right, they were probably just struggling and wanted to hate on me because I was about to close a sale.

My concern is that I've been told that I have an innocent look and friendly persona. I don't carry myself in a diva/bitchy way. I always try to keep a smile on my face. Some people misread that part of my personality and assume that I'm naive.

I guess I'll just shrug it off and be happy that I didn't stoop to their level.

Thick skin does definitely help in this industry.

I wouldn't worry about them at all, you hand;ed it great. Besides, with 200 to 500 girls working you may never see them again!

You handled it perfectly, IMO. I have had the misfortune of dealing with some bad dancer drama just recently (she actually stole my tips off the floor around the stage!). But I kept control and took the high road. Just keep your head up, make that money, and ignore the bullshit.

Sorry you had to deal with that. Much respect for not attacking her with your 8 inch heel. IMO she is a trifling thief and bottom feeder.

I had a more mild form of stage drama happen to me. I did stage with another girl and a high roller threw close to $600 on the stage. He had multiple bricks of $1 on his table. A huge brick of $1's were threw directly at me and hit me in the head(it was really bizarre!). The other girl claimed that she knew the guy and she was the reason he 'made it rain' while we were on stage. Luckily we just split it 50/50 and nothing escalated. Ironically the same customer came in later that week and made it rain again while I was doing a solo stage performance. No injuries were reported.

I just have to remind myself that these girls are obviously unhappy and pitiful and want to bring positive girls like us down to their level. It always feels good to walk away from the drama with my head up.

whoa the most girls I've ever worked with is about 40. I cant even imagine 200-500 girls. Are there enough customers to go around?

what those girls was rude and im happy to hear that the customer thought so too.

personally when that has happened to me in the past I have spoken to the girl in the DR and made it clear that she will not interupt me with a customer again.

There are many stereotypes about the industry that I work in. Sometimes they can be true but human beings are very diverse creatures and cannot be pigeon-holed into one category.

Some of the most effortlessly beautiful, kind, intelligent, successful, motivated, driven and ridiculously hilarious women that I have ever met have been dancers. I've met the best friends that I've ever had in this industry.

Sometimes the ratio of dancers to customers is 2-1, hence girls being rude/disrespectful and walking up to customers that are already engaged in convo with another dancer. It's really scandalous.

I think I want to see if there are any other clubs in town that are more laid back. Rhino wears me out on the weekends. Plus, lately the crowd has been too many 20 something guys, which isn't ideal for me. I connect better with men in their early thirties and older. Any Vegas clubs that you girls can recommend? I guess I can search some of the threads or start a new one.

I don't personally think thats a bad ratio at alll. In my neck of the woods the ratio is more like 1:4.

OP: Like every one else has said you handled the situation great! In the future do try harder to be more aggressive instead of just walking off.

CK you have one dancer for every 4 customers or 4 dancers for every customer?

I think the op is saying she's got two dancers for every 1 customer, which is 8 times as bad!

Oohh I hate it when girls try to fuck with my money. As much as I stay above drama and catty BS, I have to admit it makes my blood boil and takes every ounce of control within me not to punch somebody.
Last night there were a few customers sitting at my stage, some were tipping and others were not. Why were some not tipping? Because a skanky dancer was sitting in one guy's lap for at least 20 minutes, also distracting his friends, letting him feel her TITS and NOT encouraging him to tip me. I almost flew off the handle, mainly because it was a bad night and she was making it worse. I HAD to leave, or I would have confronted her and it would have gotten ugly.
If there are two unwritten stripper rules that I am sure just about EVERYONE follows. The first is that you don't hustle customers at the stage unless it's between songs/sets and the second is don't approach customers that are already being hustled by another dancer. WTF is wrong with these bitches?
If management doesn't care enough to do something about them, I should be allowed to take them out myself. The way I see it, they are taking money from me which is money that goes to my daughter and therefore it makes me FURIOUS.

Dont let it get to you, with that many dancers someone will beat their ass for it. You make your money, take the high road, and maybe giggle a bit when they piss off the wrong girl. But 200-500 girls? I couldnt imagine that.

I never made money at rhino- when only a percentage of guys spend, having more guys than girls just makes it impossible. CK, how in the hell can girls at your club make anything when there isn't enough guys to go around?

I made pretty good money at deja vu, but they take over half your money. I have heard recently from friends that have worked vegas that saphire's and seemless are the big clubs right now. good luck! and yes, wth that many girls don't worry about it, many are from out of town anyway.
