My parents bought me an early christmas present of a brand new laptop to help me in my last year of uni. 2 days later i spilled coffee on the laptop, breaking the touchpad and causing major sticky key syndrome.
Long story short it cost $220 to fix.
I got the money (and rent which was overdue) in a way i'm not proud of but is not as bad as it could have been.
So it adds insult to a gaping wound of an injury when the laptop returns to me with a crack in the keyboard strip (you know the plastic strip at the top of the keyboard that holds the keyboard down).
The idea is you are supposed to lever it off but the repair guy has just snapped it off.
The whole point of me paying to have it repaired was because I did not want my parents to find out that the brand new laptop they bought me is already broken. Now its obvious it has been repaired.
I cannot find a replacement strip on spare parts websites. Is there some sort of glue or paint I could use to mask the damage? (its a width ways crack near the left hand side and is looking very obviously glued at the moment).
Any suggestions appreciated (its a toshiba satellite pro a300d).
