    Default Cleaning the Crap Out of Your Diet

    Anybody want to work along with me? I figure I'll pick one crap food/drink and try to cut it out of my diet. If after 2 weeks I have gone without it, I will move on to the next crap item to cut out of my diet.

    However, if I slip up and have the crap item, I must start my 2 weeks countdown again. ONLY after I have been successful for 2 weeks can I move on to my next item.

    I figure it's a way to kick off my eating better plan (baby steps!) I'm also going to buy a jump rope today

    My first crap item I will be cutting out is: soda!

    If I get to Tuesday, September 23rd without any soda, I can move on.

    This would be a great support thread if people would join me

    Ouch! I've cut out all the easy stuff already. I'd be down to the stuff I really love...

    I still have a little ice cream in my freezer. I'll finish it and get back to you.

    Here's what SHOULD be on my chopping block:
    candy
    packaged snack foods
    ice cream
    butter (my heart would appreciate me giving this up)
    half and half (I go through phases with this one. I'm in an off phase right now)
    high sodium foods (this eliminates most convenience meals)

    Yeah, on my chopping block should be:

    soda
    high sugar snacks
    fast food
    less sodium
    chips
    excessive beef jerky and beef sticks.


    All stuff I have been gorging myself on.

    ALSO: This thread can include adding things INTO your diet, such as "I will add in 30 additional ounces of water a day" or "I will add more serving of fruits and veggies into my diet".

    I have a suspicion I would do well with a dairy free diet, so the day may come when I give it up. I think the junk food needs to go first for me.

    Yeah, me too. I picked soda first because I have given it up for 2 months before with minimal effort. But then I started school after 2 years off and I went overboard on soda again.

    It will be hard; my husband is a hardcore soda drinker.

    I need to cut out a few things, but I've only got a couple of dietary vices. I'm not sure if I've got the willpower to give them up entirely. Maybe I'll try to cut back to only 1 diet soda a day (I usually have 2) and instead of a pack of M&M's every Friday, I'll go with one a month. Would that still help? Too little?

    So far..I"m cutting out the milk. I just keep thinking "pus" when I want a bowl of cereal lol then I put the milk down..

    Sure why not? It's still an improvement. I have to be careful of black and white thinking when it comes to food.

    I found that it is easier to gold cold turkey when quitting junk food. After a couple weeks of eating a clean diet, you will feel so much better that if you slip up, you'll feel it right away.

    Gradual changes are fine, but it isn't as dramatic. I need dramatic results to stay motivated. I've given up just about all junk, and even eating something like a subway sandwich leaves me feeling icky.

    I cleaned up my diet about 2 and 1/2 weeks ago. It is fast. In about 3 days you won't crave the junk as much and really start enjoying the good wholesome foods.


    Promote yourself and earn more money! This is a business that is owned by strippers for strippers. Let's make that money!

    Im having a really hard time getting rid of these . I love salt on everything and I havent found a good alternative and the salt substitute tastes like ass

    I wish i had the self control to do this. I'd have to cut out:

    Alcohol (which is almost impossible for me to work without)

    Soda

    fast food (I probably eat out 4-5x's a wk)

    salt (I put salt on everything!)

    I should be 500lbs.!!

    this is going to sound gross but i eat fast food about 4 times a week. I drink soda but diet only..though i have heard if you cut it out you will lose cellulite.After i finish this cherry coke no more

    I'm in. Also cutting out soda. I drink 3 two liter bottles of diet pepsi a day. I'm going to replace the soda with Arizona diet green tea and also aim to drink 64 ounces of water per day. Currently, I don't drink any water on a daily basis.
    will start tomorrow, Sept. 9th and the goal is to have no soda until the 23rd of september. After that time I will allow myself soda as a treat on occasion but will not keep any in the house.

    Oh man, I'm craving soda really bad right now.... Thanks Isabella, I needed somebody to do this with me! I as well will allow an occasional soda, but right now the addiction is so strong I can't stop at one, so I need to go cold turkey for now.

    i would join you BUT
    i'm already a vegan.
    the only food i eat with HFCS is ketchup and i only drink caffine free diet soda.
    my food list is too limited. i have actually started challenging myself to start eating more crap because at least its something new.

    I need to eat less starches but damn it's hard when your husband is like mine and a picky eater who wants rice or potato with nearly every dinner meal.

    At least he finally stopped bitching about not having soda in the house except on rare occasions such a dinner or holiday party. We now only enjoy it when we eat out which isn't all that often or in mixed drinks at the bar or casino, which is also not that often.

    I swear I could loe that 5-7 lbs I’ve been wanting to drop if I didn’t have to feed him.

    Salt is fine. As long as it's celtic or himalayan (full of minerals). Table/Kosher salt are the devils. That's the salt that fucks with people's bodies. If the sal is white, it's bad news. If it's grey or pink, go for it!

    ^^ You're very welcome! Add to it your food after it's been cooked. Otherwise, you'll end up cooking the nutrients right out of it (like regular white salts).
