"Life and death, energy and peace. If I stop today it was still worth it. Even the terrible mistakes that I made and would have unmade if I could. The pains that have burned me and scarred my soul, it was worth it, for having been allowed to walk where I've walked, which was to hell on earth, heaven on earth, back again, into, under, far in between, through it, in it, and above."

I'm embarrassed to say - "When I grow Up" by pcd. But it's a fatman scoop remix.

I must be the only fan of rap. *hides*

I don't have a favorite song right now, but my favorite CD is 'Princesses Nubiennes' by Les Nubians. I bought the CD on my 30th birthday and I've been playing it every day for the past two months.
If life sucks...change it.

I really like Amanda Palmer from Dresden Doll's new solo CD. "The Point Of It All" is one I hit repeat on latenight.
waffles are just pancakes with little squares on them.
"Sinking" by Alabama 3. It's not a new one but it's the emotional place I'm in right now... feeling like I'm on a doomed mission, dragged down by the people who should be leading but aren't, while still knowing this is temporary and I'll go home happy to my warm, beautiful home and loving man soon. Plus I dig the literary references and the music has a smooth, sexy, calming rhythm. Great song.
I shamelessly am in love with "Girls Around the World" by LLoyd. Not a big fan of rap in general but everything that guy puts out sends chills up my spine.....

Yeah that's one of my favorite CDs of all time.
Actually I grew up in Detroit, 7 Mile road and Southfield which is one mile further into the city than the road in the movie. My mom got me started with Motown as a little boy. Then listening to George Clinton which was my first real favorite musician, I got everything he ever did with all his bands and associates. Riding the buses downtown alone with my brother, two little honkey kids where nobody else would go. Then in Chicago at 18-19 I used to ride the 'El' trains in the middle of the night all over the city smoking weed with people I met, no one else would go except one guy I knew--I was pretty bold back then. A friend of mine I worked with taught me a lot more about R & B and the rap they call Old School now.
So even if I don't like some new rap, R & B and rap still is something I love. Like Gorilla Zoe is one of my very favorite bands, I play them almost every night, if and when when the time is right.
Anyway rambling now but there's a reason--my favorite song right now is the same as my favorite song almost exactly three years ago when I almost killed a man laughing at the death of my best friend. The song is called 'Whatta You Know' by Cypress Hill, one of my other all-time favorite bands--but it's the live version from the CD 'Unreleased and Revamped', and it is the most lethal song I have ever heard. I am listening to it now cranked on my Bose headphones.
"Payback's a motherfuckin' bitch..."

I tend to listen to one song on repeat.. right now it's between "the package" by a perfect circle and "the morgue" by lil wayne.

That's a shift, lol! But hey, whatever makes it happen for you...

I grew up in Detroit as well! I listen to everything. I guess it is one of the joys of growing up there, we have everything music wise constantly surrounding us. And I am living in Illinois now. Was in Chicago, downtown, for about 2 years. I am enjoying the peace of the suburbs now lol.
My fave. artists more like right now is probably Combichrist, KMFDM, Angelspit, and of course I am deeply loving Slipknot's newest album. Badass.
Although at work I have been using swing and motown and oldies on our retro night on Thursdays. Haha. I love it.

The entire N.E.R.D c.d........ Loves it

Oh cool!
Hey do they still have that kickass Industrial station there? Or maybe it was Industrial on Sat nights, I forget. I used to go back there for business doing drawings about 10 years ago before I got into DJing, that's where I hard that hot industrial remix CD of Fear Factory and a bunch of other great stuff too. KMFDM rocks BTW one of my favorite bands...
