It's starting to look as though one reason the Dems might lose is because they got fixated on the Veep candidate. They did it in '52 and lost; did it in '68 and lost and did it in '88 and lost. Nixon himself said it in 1968 when Spiro Agnew was catching all the flak and he was above it all : " It's a mistake to shoot down".

I've made the decision that if The Republicans win again I'm leaving the damn country.

I don't think they will.....Republicans BARELY beat the Democrats in the last election and we had John Kerry running. He was a weak candidate and it was still a very close election.

Now we have Obama and the country is even more tired of the BS.

I also don't think Sarah Palin is as well like in Alaska as Republicans want American to believe. It's disturbing how she can never speak to the press like other candidates do.

Just make sure you show up and vote.

My husband and I just registered here in North Carolina today. This is an important state as it does have the potential to go blue this year so I'm making sure we are good to go. We will certainly do our part. I'm also going to try to find some time to go around canvassing and registering people here in Raleigh as well. Basically, I'm doing everything in my power to make sure Obama wins in November. My children's futures are at stake and I refuse to allow the Republicans the opportunity to ruin it for them.

Sweet! I think that is where Kerry got into trouble. The younger generation has to show up and vote....If they do, it should be a slam dunk for Obama.

You don't know that and neither do I. A lot can happen in a few weeks.

I'm still leaning towards Obama but I have NO enthusiasm for him. None. But I don't have any for McCain either and his failure to acknowledge that Obama never called Palin a "pig" as he did on his recent appearance on "The View" shows that his desire to win trumps his honor.

While his choice of Palin hasn't gotten me hot and bothered; I don't think she has the necessary experience to generate the prudence necessary to properly serve as President. It's questionable whether Obama does either but he's certainly had broader and more varied life experiences than Palin which helps.

Um, Bush got over 2 million votes more than Kerry did.

If for no other reason we must do all within each of our power because it will indeed be a very bleak future for the majority of Americans and many others around the world if they do “fix” yet another election. It’s it a fair election this time around they will lose, simple as that. If it’s not a fair election the republican will “win” and those who can leave should and those who can’t better get used to living under the following conditions because that is what we are headed for if republicans keep up the same pace that they have in the last 8 years:

Totalitarian regimes or movements maintain themselves in political power by means of an official all-embracing ideology and propaganda disseminated through a political party that controls the state, central state-controlled economy, regulation and restriction of free discussion and criticism, the use of mass surveillance, and/or widespread use of terror tactics.

Well.....you should not jump to ASSumptions. I'm probably the biggest drummer FOR gay rights on this board....and this post was written by a straight girl with a gay brother.

Read more of her posts because you couldn't be more incorrect on that one. Her position is quite the opposite of what you are now assuming.

Aeh? Did you move here from Africa or something? There is all kinds of rants over there about whether the election was fixed based on who wins.

Is it so hard there might be a lot of people who dislike christian hating, class warfare, civil rights restricting, race baiting, politically correct untruths ultra-liberals?

Is it so hard to believe that there might be people who are independents of either party and find themselves holding their nose while they pull the lever (or push the button) for either party?

Speaking of gay rights.....The first American wounded in the Iraq war was a gay marine who stepped on a land mine and lost his leg.

He will vote for Barack Obama.

Aha! And another republican rears it's ugly head No but seriously, if you think that all liberals are christian hating, civil rights restricting, race baiting people then we are not going to have much at all to find common ground on. So how about we just agree to disagree right here and now. fair enough?

I respect your right to have and express your opinions. And I am going to ask you to consider being a different kind of conservative site member than most of the other males here who share your pov and please do the same for me, ok?

    Thanks!

I didn't mean it like that. There are plenty of great guys here and all around the world!

What I meant was that it's been most of the male conservatives who have behaved that way with me. The female conservatives have not. I hope you will be different than your fellow conservative men here in that respect, that's all. Does that clear it up?
