Exclamation New Dancers And Those Who Help Them Read This Now

I notice we get a lot of similar questions here.

I would like to ask all of you what you think is missing from the sticky threads in this forum so I can get an idea of what information needs to be added to this section.

Of course, I also know plenty of new posters don't even bother to read them so I'll also take your ideas on what I should title them to make sure every newbie does. I'm considering "How to make $1000 a night, every night" and "How to develop muscle tone in 24 hours." hee hee. All kidding aside, I would like your input. Look at those threads and tell me what is missing, and what isn't immediately apparent.

    Thanks,

    Susan

i'm a new dancer and my biggest problem is striking up an initial conversation. at our club, we're discouraged from outright asking customers, "want a dance".

If you consider dancing there is a couple things you need to know.
    1. This is a grown people's profession. It is a fantasy, so if you feel uncomfortable with guys gawking you and asking you for sexual favors, it is not for you.
    2. You have to have a strong mind. Most people think this profession is easy, well they are wrong. It takes work to learn people skills and to dance takes a lot of work also.
    3. One thing I always stress- you are getting paid to party. The girls that the most entertaining party get the big bucks, just as simple as that. But if you are new to dancing, then you can watch girls and read a lot of Hustle Hut, for sure!! Good luck there is lots of money to be made.

^^^ i definetly think there should be a thread on this susan... as someone who is just starting out. i think it would be a good thread to read. what to expect working as a dancer, since many people have expectations or fantasies about what its like working in the club. that way they know exactly what theyre getting into. i also think a good sticky would be good websites. tons of people buy their shoes and clothes online. so itd be good to know what are good ones to visit, and ones to stay away from. thats my input anyway. these boards have hepled so much already...

You should post a post about about dancing on your cycle (period). I did a search and noticed that a lot of topics came up. Since we are women it makes sense.

I wrote an essay on what to do during an audition, and also, an essay on dancer safety. I'm also compiling a checklist of what should be in every stripper's work bag. Let me know if you'd like to see it here.

There should probably be some info included that pertains to taxes for dancers and/or depositing money at the bank, since that seems to come up a lot.

    What about body hair?
I'm in a liberal city and don't shave my armpits and some of my vagina..
I'd like a place to talk about that...

alice, try doing a search for body hair in the body business section.
"If she wants to dance and drink all night, well there's no one that can stop her. She's going til the house lights come up or her stomach spills onto the floor. This night is gonna end when we're damn well ready for it to be over, worked all week long, and now the music is playing on our time. Yeah we do what we do to get by, and then we need a release!" - Against Me!, "Thrash Unreal"

does it matter if a stripper has stretch marks for a guy to buy lapdances from her. Or does stretch marks turn men off

Im sure nearly all women have stretch marks? I wouldnt worry about it unless its something that you feel self concious about perhaps you could look into cover up make-up but I dont bother with that as I dont care about mine and men still find me attractive..if i do say so myself lol

When you audition at a club...

    you either

    a) show up and ask for one
    or
    b) call and ask if there is an amateur night
    or
    c) ask when the hiring hours are

how many auditiont threads do we need to have? seriously I feel like 90% of this section is just the same audition threads posted over and over again.

90% of the information on ALL boards is recycled. New members find it easier to just ask than to do the legwork to use the search tool. Which is a shame because many of the best threads are buried in 2004

Different ways ppl can enter the strip industry, beyond the whole "it depends on the club" shitck. I asked a question like that ( because I am a total newbie) and only got that answer. I know enough about clothes, makeup and customer service.

    Like a very general:
    this is the industry
this is how it looks now/how it was
and these are the general ways in which stripping is performed
The difference between stripping and other forms of eroticism, etc.

It just alittle difficut because to describe the diffrent ttitles that I listed here,I know someone can better articulate what I was asking

Ok I'm starting to notice a million threads about SHOES. Big shoes, little shoes, in between shoes. Shoes of all shapes and sizes. And instead of reading and posting in the threads we already have about SHOES people keep posting new ones.

So I was wondering if maybe we could create a megathread or even a subforum for shoes and clothes? There's Body Business, but I think perhaps the clothes/shoes are of their own importance and deserve their own section, especially for newbies looking for something cheap to start out with.

Also, do you have an easy-to-search archive for the old threads?

    hello! hello!

i am a retired "dancer" but, new to stripping (if that makes any sense). i am currently putting myself thru beauty school and my p/t job just isn't cuttin' it (cash.wise) anymore so, of course.. i'm thinking dance again, girl!! i'd make more money and i miss having a nite job (for whatever reason, i felt like i was more productive in life when i worked an 8p-4a shift. i'd sleep five or so hours, then wake.up and get the days errands done)!

becoming a character each nite was amazing, and now that i've learned new tricks from beauty school it'd be a totally different type of education. needless to say, i'm going to dance again.

so, i just wanted to introduce myself to everyone here.. i'm going to be perusing the forums to get myself excited and informed and want to say thanks in advance for all the wonderful support this community provides!!

happy 2010 stripperweb and i look forward to twirling 'n smiling 'n feeling the beat in NYC (all over again).

    hearts.
    art. spirit. punk 'n glamour!
