I just posted a new series of articles on Hubpages on how to become a stripper
This is such a great post! So much useful information. I'm glad I came across this forum. Money is getting tight these days so I wanted to explore some other alternative ways to make some cash. Not sure if dancing is for me, but this is a great resource. Thanks everyone!
ok take from a pro make sure your skin is thick there's alwasy gonna be some girl that been there for ever and feels like it's HER club... the best thing to do is kill people with kindness that doesn't mean share your clothes only trade outfit for outfit, use shoes you are comfortable in so what if you dont look like the rest of the girls you look better standing not gettin off the floor. Until you can handle your drinks take it easy and dont be afraid to tell your server make it virgin for a while. #1 rule EAT before you come to work!!!!![]()
Grrrrr
Hi my name is talyia and i want to become a dancer!!! The only problem is i hhave been to two clubs already and i dont think they really want to hire me because over the phone they said they wwere hiring new dancers...then when i get in there and they see me...they say they are full on dancers but they will gimme a call back if they get a opening!!!!!!!wat the hell...i dont get it wat is wrong wit me...i mean i thought i was pretty cute with a petite nice body...now not so sure since i cant get hired in either club or regular jobs...i dont ge it!!!!!!
The first requirement in this industry is a thick skin. The manager may not have liked your hair color or purse. You could have caught the manager on a bad day. Maybe his wife is banging the milkman and suing for alimony. Maybe a "queen bee" saw you and perceived you as a threat and told mgmt not to hire you. It can be any number of things. don't take it personally.

I'm brand new to dancing and I'm planning on going in for an audition at Deja Vu.
My boobs arent that big, and I dont have the most toned body but I am thin.
Is this going to make or break my shot?
This is a great thread. I think the best way to handle an audition is to go alone and not with friends. I learned that if I went with friends and it they didn't like one of us, none of us were hired. It's best to go alone...
My advice to new dancers in terms of auditioning...would be to go check out the club with a male friend stay for a while see if you like it. look around you see what goes on..what they expect from the girls. then audition another night. works for me every time lol oh and have lots n lots of confidence if you dont you really wont make money i promise you
girl im in the EXACT same boat like i had to check the screen name because i could have wrote that statement my self!!the exact same thing happened to me2 clubs in all and i call they tel me one thing i get there and all of a sudden they are not hiring.huh its so sad and depreeing cuz in my head im perfect for the job in theirs its a no go...like wtf am i that lame were i can get a regular job..and to be put so low as i cant even get a non rocket science job as a sripper...![]()
If a customer tips you $5 does that mean they really like you or what?
They really like you. When I get tipped $5's (or a bunch of $1's) I make it a point to go over to those custie/s first before the guys who only tipped a $1, after my stage. I also pay them a little extra attention at the tip-rail if they start tipping early and keep tipping.
So many questions about auditions, clothes, etc. I think an important topic would be start-up costs to stripping. This isn't my first rodeo but even with savvy shopping I still spent over $200 getting back into dancing. Something more realistic like this might be a great wake up call to some who are broke and think it's 'easy money.' I know when I started originally I was so broke I had to borrow $60 from a friend for the cheapest outfit and shoes I could find. I didn't tan, have my nails done, or anything else. Good thing I was working at a dive! I know these expenses are often 'optional,' but in clubs in major cities they are not. Most new girls will buy stuff on sale and not have a complete look, (I fell into this trap this past week). Also asking the club about outfit requirements before you shop is a must!
So for shoes I spent $30, a short dress $30, a 'legal' thong and garter $10, tanning special $10 (I was told this is required at the club), hair dye/razors/other beauty I wouldn't normally spring for $20. The rest of the $200+ was on stuff I guess I could have lived without except for stockings ($30 for quite a few pairs b/c they tear so easily) because my club has a 5 peice minimum requirement.
Newbies need to know you need to have a bit of $$ saved up for these costs and you can't rely on making $$ that first week because you might be put on the slow shifts or need to really get your hustle down before you start making that money back!
Please do not wear baby oil, lotion, or anything slippery onstage. -_-

Hi. I am determined to become a cam girl, im wanting to start on myfreecams and pretty soon! i have done loads of research and read loads of threads on this and finaly decided to make an account.. I have also been on watching myfreecams and have a pretty good idea how things work.. but my problem is that i just cant convince my partner that i live with that it is a good idea, He has it in his end that these girls have no respect for themselves are slutty ect ect and are no better than prostitutes. For me its not just the money thats apealing i also think it will help my confidence grow and i am serious about trying really hard and putting the effort in. I feel i am slowley getting there with him but dont feel he will ever be supportive, i am worried if it will effect my relationship and weather he will hold it against me? any advice would be greatly appriciated .. thanks girls xx
