    Default Hobbies

I'm sorry if this has already been posted, but what hobbies does everyone have? I have become so depressed lately because I am always bored and I need some new hobbies. I hate evenings, especially because I strongly dislike TV and don't really care for too many movies. The only hobby I really have is working out, but that can only last for so many hours of the day, and after that I never have anything to do. So please give me some suggestions, I'm open to pretty much anything.
    Thanks

Volunteering? Gives you something to do, and you can give-back to community at the same time?

That's a good idea, it would probably make me feel better too. How do you go about finding out about volunteer opportunities?

I volunteer with the children's hospital and the children's cancer center. They always seem to need people just to visit and even do events. And they generally don't have a time frame to stick to just a day. So I go to the gym, do my stuff with my son, then do my weekly helping.

Its easy to find out info... just go to the websites of the "charity" that interests you. Trust me once you fill in the form to volunteer you will get a call super soon.

    Good luck!

SW? Jk but sadly it kinda is my pasttime. I love reading anything health related though health magazines and articles online. Not really a hobby though. Also watching sports.
Those arn't really as fulfilling as volunteering though..

I enjoy cooking. I try to adapt recipes from being high calorie to low calorie or all natural to replace unhealthy ingredients. My mind has been on Pumpkin Pie lately and how to make it vegan.

Diet and exercise has been taking up a lot of my time lately.

I do a lot of reading. All kinds of topics.

Cleaning! Re-organizing. Going completely OCD on the house. Washing things that no one thinks to wash (cloth basket liners, anyone?)

Yes, I'm stuck inside thanks to Ike and the constant rain. I was up at 5am, cleaning the garage. Ha.

You could always take a local community class in something fun like painting, salsa, underwater basketweaving, etc. Those are always fun. I took a Spanish class last year. It was fun and educational.

Thanks for the advice everyone! So far I've decided that I'm going to make cooking (healthy) a hobby. I got Tosca Reno's eat clean cook book, and I made the pork tenderloin recipe- it's in the oven now, hopefully it turns out ok:/. I am definitely going to look into volunteering, but I have to find a cause that I am very passionate about first, there are so many to choose from. I wish I could make cleaning a hobby but I absolutely hate it, and only do it when necessary-I'm such a slob.

I love going to second hand/thrift stores and garage sales (been meaning to make a thread about it for a while, in fact). You can find some neat stuff for less than the shipping would cost on eBay. A bonus of going to yard sales is getting to play with the dogs and cats there.

As for volunteering, maybe you could help out at an animal shelter?

Now that I'm counting them, I realize that I have a ridicuously excessive amount of hobbies. Wow, good thing I'm a stripper cause otherwise I'd never have the time/mony to pursue them. My hobbies: I also like yard-sale-hunting, cooking, reading. I play the piano, ride my horse and travel a lot. I play poker, draw, garden, shop and work on my house. oh and i also really love going to cheesy cultural outings like renaissance faires, festivals, and cooking competitions. Yeah, i'm never bored...
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

I love reading, i think there is nothing better than finding an awesome book that you can't seem to put down, how about taking a cooking class?? look on the bright side about the hobby you do have now (working out) at least you'll never get fat with a hobby like that.

The History Channel and DVDs take up more time than I have. My current online dating efforts suck up a good 5-8 hours a week. Investing is fun (for me). I enjoy the occasional cigar (combine it with a deck outside in the summertime and a good book for a well-spent hour or two). Porn is fun for a good 2-3 hour marathon masturbation session. Video games suck up more hours than I possibly have free; I've had to skip playing so many of them. You could work more (more money allows for more expensive hobbies).
