Default How do you get rid of that overwhelming feeling...

you get when your in a big strip club? It took so much for me to even step foot in this club thatI was hired at for a long time but never had the guts to go! When I got there it wasn't good at all and I was TRYING so hard! I spoke with this girl who told me to calm down and I'll probably make my money late like she does. This made me feel so much better. She said if you get that overwhelming feeling just go have a drink...so I did! I made more money last night then I ever made in vegas (I've been here since jan) but I left early because I actually got DRUNK!

What is the best way to get rid of that overwhelming feeling?
How do you deal with the BIG clubs?
Is it best to have a buddy/friend with you?

I think its the fact that the club is so damn big! All the people and all of the girls? I don't know what it is. I really just think its a combination of everything. I hate the damn feeling. I really fought through it but the alcohol was what really made me feel 1mil times better and I was able to do my thing. I just don't want to have to get drunk every time I work in order to make money that's not cool to me. What do you think I should do?

hmmm....... I think you may be feeling what I felt when I switched from my day shifts to Friday and Saturday nights. It was intense! I was used to a few girls and a few customers and the whole damn club to ourselves. All of a sudden 50 girls and 150 guys.

I helped ease myself by telling myself that it really a dayshift, but it just happened to be crazy busy and this was a great night to make money! Then I would tell myself to just hustle as I normally would.

I don't know if that would help anyone else or if I'm just weird, but that psychological trick really helped me ease into the late weekend nights.

I wouldn't get drunk at work again. It might improve your hustle at first, but you will become dependant on alcohol to work, and you don't want to do that....do you?

Stop now, regroup, and learn how to bank while SOBER. Then nothing will hold you down.

ok I'm use to the small to decent size clubs where there might be 30-60 at most girls working a night. The club I was at last night had to be at least 2hundred chicks. Customers? like 4 or 5 times the girls. I mean so many damn ppl you can barely walk and its a BIG club. I kept thinking positive and kept a smile on my face but I felt like a small fish in a big pond.

It didn't help that I was also getting nasty looks from girls and stares.

I'm going to go in tonight but late so everything will go my way lol I want to start off the night by saying "hello sweetheart would you like a dance?" instead of saying "hey bartender can i have 2 shots of patron and a longbeach" lol

[quote=sexyjasmine;1708491] ok I'm use to the small to decent size clubs where there might be 30-60 at most girls working a night. The club I was at last night had to be at least 2hundred chicks.

I found this too, I worked for 2 years in a really little club with max 40 girls at Christmas and 20-30 otherwise, and then when it went sour (downhill to sleazetown) I went to a massive club for the first time and I Hated it! Suddenly enormous club, 150-200 minimum 85 on a quiet night, and all the dancers suddenly perfect 10's with boobs and tans really 'looking the part' and incredibly cliquey. Well my confidence is not always great so it knocked me hard, so overwhelming, and I ended up leaving.

I'm at another club now of similar size but it feels more spacious, and less girls working, but I still need to adapt to it. It has helped me that management and the girls and everyone at this place are very nice and I've made fast friends, but I too feel without a drink i'm not in the mood and still struggle with it when the club is busy (when it's busy I don't know where to look and when it's quiet i think there's nothing to look at! doh)

I've never worked at a huge club yet, but I am terrified when going to a new place. Usually I try to find someone to come with me at least for the first few days and after I get used to it I don't mind if they come or not.
When that isn't possible I go at the beginning of the week so by the time the $$ and the crowds roll around I will be at more at ease with all I have to deal with. I keep reminding myself the more I go in, the faster the scary feeling will go away and in no time I'll be apart of the crew.

Lastly, I'll go window shopping. That is enough of a motivator to make me want to go into work for the next few days.

Go with a friend or have a regular come in to visit you and get your night started off on a good note.

i can see how those enourmous clubs in vegas can be overwhelming. I worked in the biggest club in my city, and it was like a quarter of the vegas club size. When I first got out on the floor i was also like OH. MY.GOD., but then all I saw was dollar signs, DOLLAR SIGNS EVERYWHERE! Then I got excited and motivated about all the money in the room, so that helped me.
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

Funny, I get the same overwhelming feeling about small clubs. Anything smaller than 10,000 sq feet and I get claustrophia, lol.
