When I first started dancing I had a hard time when a guy asked me for my number. I think once you figure out your place and the customers' place in the whole spectrum of SC, you'll find it incredibly easy to say, "I'm sorry, I don't give out my number... if you want to get a hold of me, you know where I work." Supply a wink and a schedule. If they really want to get to know you, they'll come in and see you (and pay you).

the only problem with giving out a fake number is that if that customer ever comes back, they will hold a grudge against you. I always tell them that giving out my number is against club policy since it can be considered solicitation of prostitution, or something along those lines.

my friends and i would have a separate prepaid mobile account that we gave the number out for - because that was an important part of luring them back to the club. keep the dream going and all that.

turn it off when you're sleeping, doing stuff etc...

i worked in a culture that promoted that kind of calling customers thing - so it worked both ways.

Make an email on hotmail or something like that..where you cant be traced. Then tell them that you hate the phone and never use it(or you lost it, or it was turned off because you racked up a huge bill and havent paid it off yet.....) and he can get in touch with you by email.

I've never had a guy bitch about getting my email over my phone.

Tell him u will give him one digit of your number each time he comes to the club LOL. Kidding.

I wouldnt advise giving a fake number, I've done it before to get a guy off my back who kept asking for it (and kept spending hehe) and it does backfire. He came back to the club and was pissed off and didn't spend any money on me.

It's best to be upfront and say u cannot give your number out to customers. This way u dont offend him coz u r not saying u dont want to give it to him.

If u want to give your number to a regular then do what Nautilus is describing and get a prepaid number just for work.

Haha my one of my oldest friends started the reject line. He also has the rss feed of the stuff that gets texted. It's hilarious.

I give out my phone number for a fee of $500, or if you book my friend and I for two hours or.. you get the picture. If the opportunity arises to make a lot of money from my phone number, I do give it out. I should really get another phone number to give out. I pretty rarely give out my number though, because I know my boyfriend really wouldn't like it. I'm also pretty open with regulars about having a boyfriend, so they don't get the wrong idea.

Telling them that you can't give out your # because of ____ is way better than giving them a fake or reject number. Make up an excuse that you like. It could include parents, roommates, or that you have no money for a phone (I can't believe they buy that one). Tell them your schedule and that they can show up with some sort of prepaid phone or give them your stripper email account.

Haha I've used the "I dont have a phone" and "I don't have credit" before with a few guys and then magically they come in next time with a phone and credit..

    Always shitty phones though, haha.

What she said. I've never given out my number. I've definitely found guy's numbers left for me with staff (along with some note about how they want to get together and talk about Scifi books or something), and I've never called them, either (but the notes are sweet)

If you have a boyfriend and/or are married, don't lie. Be open about it. If they have a problem with you being attached, then so be it. Whatever. I'm not going to lie. It's how I establish trust and my integrity.

Try to have an easily remembered email address.

If you do want to give out a cell phone number and not be traced - get a pre-paid phone and number. Leave the pre-paid phone on silent and activate the voicemail message service. On the voicemail message service have a message you update weekly with your current schedule.

Just don't answer the voicemail messages. Don't answer the txt messages unless you want to of course. I only ever answer txt messages. I never answer phone calls on my work phone (in re club or other regulars).

Or you can give them your work myspace profile address?

There are plenty of ways to allow them to feel like they have the ability to contact you without them interferring with your life OTC

I disagree with this. We are selling a fantasy and sometimes being single is part of that fantasy. I used to be honest about being in a relationship but I found that I missed out on money doing that. Now I tell 90% of customers that I am single.

Tell 'em you can't give out your number in the club OR give 'em an e-mail.

Staff has fun after-hours... if you're fucked-up in the head enough to join in.

I did that.. said I'd give him a digit for every $100 he spent. $1000 I gave him all the numbers.

He came back in a week, "I THOUGHT YOU SAID YOU'D GIVE ME YOUR PHONE NUMBER!"

"Honey, I did. I never said I'd give them to you in ORDER."

Nope. I told him for ever $200 he spent I'd give him one number in the right place.

He still has $1600 more to give me. Hahaha.

He's a pretty cool guy though.

I have told guys who want my number, "sure I'll give it to you but I want you to be AWARE that my phone is for work purposes only. So, if you dont' want to know when I'll be coming into work, then you won't want my number" That line always works! The guys who are wanting OTC from me respect what I've said to them and enjoy the time that we've spent together ITC.

The first club I ever worked at worked that way and they meant it..scared the girls straight. No one ever thought once about giving out a #

I usually just say "Oh Honey, I'm not a phone person at all but here is my email" and then I give them my stripper email. Very easy to ignore requests for OTC by email!

I always tell them either the club number, or if they are REALLY on my nerves, I give them 867-5309.

If they are stupid enough to try and call it, not my fault, lol.
