    Default Stress Marks/Folliculitis??

Anyone else get weird stress marks all over their arms when life goes berserk?? I'm taking the week off from work because besides having homework galore, my arms look like I have some contagious disease.

Tiny little zit-like things that then refuse to go away and scab/scar/don't heal... and keep re-filling with a clear liquidy stuff? The doc told me it was just bad folliculitis (it's happened for years when I get really really really stressed, but it gets progressively worse), and gave me doxycycline... and a Xanax prescription because he thought I was a mess. This is NOT acne... and it only happens on my forearms.

Should I see a dermatologist? Any similar stories?? Here is a shitt-ay cell pic...

I don't have any exact answers for you, but I cured my folliculitis on my back by using Head & Shoulders Classic Clean Shampoo as a body wash in the shower. It's only $2-$3 at the most; maybe worth a try?

Hope someone else can be more helpful..

You can see a derm but stuff like this is one possible symptom of gluten intolerance/allergy. It's not uncommon.

I have zero suggestions. However, I noticed a few years ago my step mom all of a sudden had this exact same red bumps etc on her forearm and hand(s). I swear to god if I didn't know my family better I would have thought she was a needle junkie. It looked like she was banging drugs and she missed the "mark".

I'll call/text and see what she says.

I would go to a derm though, to be honest. I have found that just bypassing family dr's for anything more than flu bugs and seeing specialists are the way to go anymore. I hate waiting3 hours in a waiting room to be told something random and then it not work.

Do you notice it when you are stressed or after you eat something?

You've been stressing alot lately. If this doesn't go away then I'm going to put you on a deserted island with no work or homework and your bike for 6 months so you can chill.

    ^ LOL...

no, it doesn't itch... and yeah, it makes me look like a junkie... which sucks, because man, i don't even drink!!!

sassy, you're saying your folliculitis doesn't resemble this?? hmmm... i will definitely go see a derm. next week then. these are SO not healing. it's not really after i eat, either... they start to heal after i've been less stressed/had a good night's sleep/spent the night w/ my bf.... and get worse with less sleep and more HW. boo....

thank you for your responses... maybe i have scabies.

I dropped my astronomy class... it makes SO much more sense for me to take it next semester. I worked it out & the fees will be the same... a few minor schedule adjustments. But I'll be SANE!! YAY!!!!! I feel like a major load was lifted. Hopefully these things will start to heal...

no it doesn't look like that at all.

regular folliculitis looks like TINY little red (sometimes skin colored) bumps, kinda pimple like, but very small...if you run your hand down the back of my arm, you'll feel probably a hundred or more. i also get them in the winter on my thighs, usually a patch of tiny little bumps from my jeans rubbing.

i have also gotten bacterial folliculitis, from a hot tub..it looked more like yours, just a lot more of them. it's an infection and should be treated with a antibiotic cream, you don't want it to get bad. you need to go to a derm and like said before, just skip the reg doc.

When I get hives I used to go to the ER. I have an old script of my meds but I doubt that would help. Im live in yhe art district.

Sounds and looks like hives from stress or allergic reaction to what you ate.

A couple of years ago I had a bad case of folliculitis...........lots of tiny, itchy, flesh-colored bumps. Went to an Urgent Care clinic and the doctor prescribed tetracycline pills and steroid tablets.......cleared it right up.

yeah that doesn't look like follicuitis, it looks like an allergic reaction to something...go get it checked out. and if you're ever in a real hurry but don't want to do the ER thing, go to a pharamacy and talk to a pharamasist...they can sometimes help...for free.
