Default My kitten thinks he's a puppy?

He's about 6 months old. I'll hold up one of his toy mousies and rattle or crinkle it (they all make noise) and he'll look up and excitedly run around in circles until I toss it across the room. Then, he'll dart for it, pick it up, and carry it back to me and drop it at my feet or in my lap or something. He does this game with anybody. Is this just common kitten behavior? I don't want him to grow out of it, lol.

Also, and this one disturbs me, if he gets really excited from running around, he'll pant like a dog. It's funny because he gets the same smiley-looking face as a dog but it disturbs me because cats aren't supposed to pant. But, he doesn't go for water. I called the vet and they think he's just over-doing the playtime. So, I just hold him still when he does it and he stops. Well, until I let go and he starts playing all crazy again.

I think the vet is right about overdoing the playtime. One of my boys will get way too excited playing with the laser pointer and start panting, so I just stopped using it. He also jumps in my lap and licks my face in a very puppy-like manner.

You could just bring him to the water bowl and splash it (helen keller style) after play time. My cat would pant all the time after play time as a kitten. Though he would drink water after too.

My baby does that too. (not the fetching, the panting) If he doesnt get water for a while, I'll feed him a small amount of water with an eye dropper.

I've had cats that would play fetch before. I don't see anything wrong with it!

My cat, Buster, is now full grown and he still loves to play "fetch". Well, he's a cat so it's more like "chase". He does NOT do returns. My other two are too sophisticated and adult to "play".

The panting is a DEFINITE sign you're overdoing it and he's really wiped out. None of my cats EVER panted. They'd stop playing long before that ever happened.

I had a cat that did that.

Now is the panting only when the kitty runs?

My bf was delivering a washer dryer set to this lady the other day and she had like six dogs and a freaking kangaroo! He took video of it on his phone, it was so funny, it thinks it's one of the dogs!

^I know a guy in Florida that raises wallabies.

One of our cats adopts little stuffed animals. He carries them around the house in his mouth, licks them, and holds them in his arms to sleep. He switches them up all the time. He's fickle, I guess.

My cat likes to steals things run around the room then she hides it. As soon as i put a pencil down she steals it and chews it up into pieces.
She also likes to play "chasey' when she gets outside, she's not supposed to go outside, so when she does, she has a great game keeping just out of reach. The only way to catch her is to pretend you don't care, she usually runs back insside because outside is a bit scary on her own.
She also likes to hide under the bed and ambushes your feet when you walk past, very frightening when she does it at night!
If I sleep too long she sits on my chest and slaps my face to make me wake up.
Oh and she's about 6 years old.

I used to have a cat that loved to play fetch, especially with little wads of paper. She'd bring them back to me over and over all day long. It was bizarre!

The fetching game is just too cute. I had a cat that would do that; he really got into it and would look for maybe over an hour if he couldn't find it. If he knew where it was, but couldn't get it out, he would ask me to move something to let him get at it. Then it would start all over again, sometimes for hours. But he never got hyper and overexerted. This behavior lasted for many years, even playing outdoors. I think it's the hunting instinct turned into social fun.

This cat died 16 years ago of kidney failure. Even though my current cat and I are very attached, I still grieve over losing his predecessor. I miss all the cats I ever had, really. I'll always have one around, it seems. Cats being aloof--what a myth!!

I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.
