Default Hoodia DEX-L10? Other appetite suppressants?

    Hi all,

Just bought Hoodia DEX-L10 yesterday from GNC and took one pill this morning. I took it with 8 oz water and then waited an hour to eat, just like it said on the package. However, I was hungry just as usual and have eaten about 700 calories so far, and still a bit physically hungry. My emotional please-give-me-something-delicious-to-eat cravings do seem a bit less than usual, but I'm not sure if this is just placebo effect.

I researched Hoodia on SW before buying any, and saw that DEX-L10 is supposed to be legitimate - plus the packaging is covered with slogans about how this is the REAL Hoodia from Africa. Does what I am experiencing sound consistent with real Hoodia? Will it take a while for the effect to kick in?

Thanks guys! Also, if anyone could point me to good appetite suppressants that do NOT change your metabolism, that would be great. Unfortunately, I have gathered from reading SW that it is very difficult to find something that is not fake or very weak in quality.

I personally stay away from appetite suppressant pills since I have a fish allergy, and you never know, since most of them contain shellfish. So I have limited experience there.

I find that taking kelp pills/powder helps me a lot. As a bonus it makes your hair grow faster/thicker, too!

Update on this: I took two pills yesterday, one at noon and one about six hours later, and it did not suppress my hunger at all. It also may have contributed to the depression that I have been feeling for the past 24 hours. Sudden onset and I haven't felt this bad for a long time. Took 3 pills this morning and am feeling worse than ever emotionally. Still have quite an appetite and am hungry as usual.

I am not taking any more of this. It's possible that it reacted badly with my body chemistry, or that it is just defective to begin with. Wow.

I'd agree with avoiding that. Tonalin works well, and doesnt have any of the ickies.

I'd heard that REAL hoodia is VERY VERY VERY rare, and most of what's on the market is false, taken from a similiar plant in the family, but without hte benefits. REAL hoodia supposedly only comes from one place and requires a SPECIAL seal to export. So also MASSIVELY expensive. Not just hte 50$ a bottle dieters fad stuff.

In another thread, someone recommended the health benefits of an acidophilus supplement, and others mentioned the appetite suppressant effects. On that recommendation (and because intestinal health is nice for its own reasons), I bought some too at Whole Foods--I got the Jarrow refrigerated Jarro-dophilus Original (yellow label, 3.4 billion organisms) and what do you know? It really does kill your appetite.

100 pills for $10.99, and I usually take two a day.

^wow, nice! (i need me some of that)
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

Feeling less depressed now, thank God. I'm never trying that stuff again. Needtodance, that's what I heard too - that real Hoodia is very rare. I thought that finding 60 pills for $40 seemed too good to be true, and it looks like it was. I guess it's also possible that it just reacted badly with my body chemistry. Hard to say for sure.

I searched and found the thread about acidophilus as an appetite suppressant. Interesting. I'm off to Trader Joe's in a little while to find some! Hopefully this next step in my weight loss saga will fare better than the last.

Watching Andrew Zimmern on Bizarre Foods on the Travel Channel. That really reduces my appetite for a couple of hours.

I can name a few episodes of CSI that have that effect too.
