Rub a little bit of shaving gel between your hands.

First make sure you are free of any lotions or hair products. It's a common thing for us to run our hands through our hair while dancing and if you use any style products that will get on your hands.

If that doesn't help you can try a tiny bit of a grip aid products ike Dry Hands or Mighty Grip or you can dust your hands with one of those little rosin bags that bowlers use.

If you pole at home too, clean your pole really well and skip using these products to work on your strength so you will hopefully not need them at work.

Excellent advice. If you are thinking of getting a pole, another reason to get the stainless steel if you want a challenge. Brass looks better and is more fun--until you get good with the steel anyway--but the steel will make you way better at your club.

we have a spray bottle with rubbing alcohol so that you can spray your hands before you go up. If there is lotion on the pole then you need to clean the pole. also lil minx sells a pole grip on their site but it's hard to spin with that stuff!

rubbing alcohol is your friend! wipe the pole and your hands with it.

also, if you are slick because of sweaty hands, a rosin bag works wonders and is cheaper than the grip aids, you can also use spray deodorant to stop the sweating...make sure it's the spray though

do not use baby powder and make sure you are not lotioning up your skin...also, don't touch your hair, i notice i start slipping the more i run my hands though my hair

I agree, rubbing alcohol, and if you're new, boots.

Agreed about the boots for newbies. The shiny patent style ones work best.
