    Default Pole dancing for excercise

Hi all!!! I'm looking for pole dancing classes in my area to get fit. I just turned 40 and recently gained some weight quickly that I want to tone up, especially my abs. I don't wnt to join a gym again because I didn't utilize it and I think pole dancing would keep my interest longer. Does anyone out there know of any in Connecticut?

Unfortunately, there aren't many studios that offer that type of workout...yet!

Most of us buy poles for our own homes and workout with it at home...or practice our stellar skillz!LOL! Just be sure to get one that is sturdy, like a Lil' Minx. There is someone on theis board who also sells poles too. Once you have your pole you can also take on-line classes through our very own Alena Downs, her website is polejunkies.com

    Hope this helps.

Thanx for the reply Sinder. I've thought of just getting a pole and tyring at home. I just really wanted to take a class maybe for better form if I do it wrong. I'll also look into Alena Downs class. And last but not least....CONGRATS on the baby boy.

I'm almost positive you'll find something in CT. I live in UT and there are 4 pole studios here. I'm lazy and hate driving ,so I ended up getting a home pole, so it really depends if you would like the social aspect of a class. If you want to get out and do group excercise ... do that. I already spend way too much at home, so I'm thinking of joining a class or doing some other group form of excercise soon.

It can be such a great workout. You should go for it! If there are no good studios near to your home why not just get a home pole and either buy a dvd or do online classes or both.
