    Default eBay fail :(

I'm hoping for some honest advice here. I am new to eBay and have a ton of dancer clothes I don't wear to sell. My dress has been on there for 4 days now with no bids. I am not looking to get a lot of money, just give my items a new home.

Is it because I have 0 feedback? I thought SW members might bid on it because they know me or is feedback really important?

Is it true that people might not start bidding until the last minute?

Should I try selling in groups instead of each item by itself? I wanted to sell items individually so I can build up my eBay feedback but also because I've noticed on SW that when groups are for sale, people often want to pick and choose.

    Thank you
Come bid on my first eBay auction!!!!

Did you check if anyone is watching it? because that would be a definite sign that people are interested and waiting til the last minute which indeed happens very often. Otherwise your price and description seem ok to me and the fact that you only have 0 feedback wouldn't deter me since its not a big ticket item.
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

In auctions people do generally come in at the last minute to try and sneak a bargain.
I don't see why it wouldnt sell, good pics, clear description, bargain price.

If you want to build your feedback, you could try buying a few cheap things. Some people sell digital items, like gift certificates or coupons, that you don't have to pay shipping on. Just make sure the seller is actually in the habit of leaving feedback!

Never sold on EB. I have been to a couple of their 'how to sell' workshops @ my local library. I've also read some books about it. It seems pretty tough these days, lots & lots of competition/items for sale. Have you tried looking at recently sold items in your category? Good luck

Things often don't get bids until the last day of sale. I wouldn't sell it in a grouped lot unless the item go together in a set or complete outfit. Your zero feedback may also be an issue. I buy on Ebay alot and won't buy from someone with less than 20 transactions and 100% feedback. If your stuff doesn't sell at all try buying some stuff to build up your feedback.

I think maybe you should sell a "Lot" with like 2-3 outfits in it. There is nothing that really makes that dress stand out amongst the other dresses that are for sale.

And yes, I am one of those people who will put an item on watch and wait til literally the last 20 sec to bid. I ALWAYS win...lol

Dont worry too much. Most bids happen at the last minute. I always wait till the last 10min of something to bid.

The ad is clear, and so are the pics, so I am sure someone will buy it

Ebay totally fucking sucks now, I have stopped selling on there. Sellers are no longer allowed to leave negative feedback for buyers, and that allows them to act like shitheads. More and more people are bidding and not paying, and becoming more demanding in general. I had a buyer threaten to dispute me through paypal and leave neg feedback when he didn't get his item after a few days. I don't feel like catering to these assholes and paying constantly increasing fees so I stopped using them.

It could be the zero feedback. I won't buy from a seller who has very little feedback that isnt great. It could also be the timing. Like, CK, I also bid at the last minute. It could also be the category you're selling in. How many other similar items are listed? How is your item comparible to the others? What makes you're item stand out? Did you thouroughly describe the item so that the search function will find it? WHat are your competitors doing differently? I'd suggest re-evaluating your marketing first, since that is easy changed, then work on the feedback. You can always buy a few things or if you know someone who has a good standing ebay account ask to use theirs. Good luck !

edit: I just read your listing.
You should include measurements! Giving your height/weight won't really help buyers because everyone is built differently (ie bone structure, muscle mass, fat, etc). Include a bust, waist, hip and top to bottom measurement. Be sure to include whether it is stretchy or form fitting.
Also include the brand if you know it.
Remember to include what kind of condition the item is in. In your case, how worn is the dress and thong? Was it something you only wore a few times and is in great condition?

Thanks for the feedback, everyone. I'll wait till the auction actually closes before panicking. If it doesn't sell, I'll try grouping a few similar outfits.

Definitely the feedback. I would not buy from someone w/ 0 feedback. A good way to boost that is to just buy a few items...

Don't panic yet. Most stuff doesn't get bids until you get down to the last few hours.

I always bid in the last like, 10 seconds too! So possibly people will do that too, plus when it's closer to the end time, it usually shows on the front page, doesn't it? Good luck!

I am trying to sell stuff too. I really don't want to deal with Ebay for this and other reasons...

I personally try to buy items from sellers who offer many items that I like. That way I can save $$$ on shipping by getting them from one place. I try to avoid buying one items at a time especially if thats the only thing available. Your auction just seems weird from a buyers perspective.

I dunno. Just imagine going to a garage sale and seeing only on thing for sale.

Why don't you post them on SW? The For Sale Section has been pretty popular lately.

I wouldn't mind snagging some good stuff....

I may be on the Australian eBay however this is my rule of thumb as well. I've only recently broke it buying from a seller with less than 20 feedback (however 100%) and I'm kinda "paying" for it (as I have YET to receive the item 2 weeks later!).

So yeah. Be a buyer on eBay before you be a seller. Build up your feedback and then sell something.
