Man, this sucks! So, I was notified the other day that my husband and I lost our main account for our business. This account paid about 60% of our bills. The reason has to do with supposedly being friends with a black drug dealer. This is just so rediculous! My husband doesn't even know this guy and he gets dropped. This is the second time this shit has happened. Both times the account was lost due to some derogatory race issues that had nothing to do with the business or my husband. My husband is black and white. He does all the work and has a helper who is Cuban/White. The helper looks like the typical white boy, and sometimes at customers locations, they go up to the helper asking questions instead of my husband. They think the 'white guy' is the owner or the boss. You know, living in a city with so many different races and cultures you would think this kind of shit don't really happen anymore. Well it does. All the time. And it really pisses me off because I am white and my husband is a mixed minority who keeps getting held back because of people and their race issues. Everytime there is a problem with other people of color, they are fired as well as every other black employee. This is not a good business ethic especially in the 21 st century. So anyhow, my husband says "well if worse comes to worse, I guess you'll have to go back to work." Ummm, I haven't danced since the SuperBowl and I really don't want to go back to work as a dancer in the city I am living in for various reasons. I just went back to school and am now working on my degree, plus my son is in Kindergarten which makes it difficult for me to work night hours. I can't believe this shit. It's times like these that you say, "Why did I chose to own my own business?" It is so hard. By far the hardest thing I or my husband has ever done. And it hasn't exactly came at the best time when the economy is puttering and new accounts are hard to come by. Oh what to do, what to do. I'm really trying to be patient and hope that these two potential accounts go through, because that would save the day and a whole many other to follow. It's like, man, the money is rolling in, you have prospect accounts lined up waiting to follow through, and them BAM!!! Why does it seem like right before you can taste success of the wealth you get fucked and then knocked right back down, to start all over again, except this time your almost half way above where you started?
