I need some new songs! I've been dancing to the same ones for too long, I prefer dancing to slower music. I've been dancing to Portishead and Sneakerpimps, so does anyone know of some music with a similar sound?
Thanks!

How about Poe, Sade, Benny Benassi's "let it be", dj krush "trip hop", hooverphonic, massive attack. Can you tell I dance to this haha

Placebo?

'Sweet Jane', Cowboy Junkies
Massive Attack 'Angel'
Massive Attack & Portishead 'Protection'
Thievery Corporation 'The Supreme Illusion', 'Angels' ft. Norah Jones, there's a lot more by them.
8MM 'Give It Up', 'Crawl'
Balligomingo 'Purify', 'Heat', 'Lust' There are a bunch of great remixes of these if you want faster, too.
Les Princesses Nubiennes (SP?) 'Ports du Souvenir'
Again spelling may be off--it's the after work 420 thing, lol
Maybe Goldfrapp, though the stuff I've been playing by them is a bit faster, like 'Slide In', 'Ride a White Horse'
Morcheeba's first CD was good, I think it was the first. The other two were just OK.
Some of the slower Sarah McLaughlin remixes are hot, quite unlike the fast techno remixes, like 'Fear' (Lunasol mix), or 'Silence' the Delerium 'sanctuary' mix.
Sorry, I'm a bit buzzed and can't remember, was it Portishead that did 'Glory Box'? I play it from a file that doesn't say, but that song is pure refined sensuality.
Oh one more maybe 'Slut' by Velvet Acid Christ, it's like a bit heavier Portishead with more beat. They have another on that's even better but it's 'track number 2' copied from a burned CD to me, lol. Most of thier stuff is out there but those two are incredible.

Listen, no disrespect to the hip-hop crowd*, but it's way, way easier to pull off dancing to hip-hop than it is to 'Glory Box'.
I will not play that song for just anyone, trust me--it's not meant for ordinary women to dance to.
*anyone doubting this, check out the Gil Scott-Heron thread, for a start

I'm a big fan of The Raconteurs "Blue Veins", pretty much my signature song.

I like dancing to Inertia Creeps by Massive Attack. The guy from Sneaker pimps has a new band worth checking out too; IAMX.
I'll think of more.

Oh also if you have time check out the sticky 'Sexy Songs' thread, it tends to be this sort of stuff, but the thread is gigantic.

I just heard this on www.di.fm/ Lounge station.
Some of the sexy lyrics:
Your hand
My waist
My hand
Your face
Nobody saw it coming.
But everybody watched.
Be careful
Of sharpened kisses
And avoid what you think you want
Sexy like foreplay and pain
But I am here
Anyway.
