    Default Generic brand products

I went to Target with a friend today to pick up some lotion, shower gel etc. I always buy name brand and she was like "Why don't you just get the target brand, it's the same exsact thing, I can't belive you're wasting money." It would have been a lot cheaper but I can't believe that it's the exact same thing. Am I wrong? It would be nice though, I spend a fortune on Kerastase and Bumble and Bumble already.

I always buy the generic brand if Target has their product sitting right next to the corresponding name-brand product--you can even look at the ingredients--they're the same thing! But products like Bumble and Bumble, John Frieda, etc, don't have generic counterparts.

I will say that Target brand pads and tampons are NOT the same thing. I also find that their lotions and shower gels and laundry detergent are not that great either. They seem more watered down generally.

    But I tolerate their tissues.

I've tried a lot of generic products but I usually end up going back to the name brand items. That's just been my experience.

Oh I know, I just meant that since I'm spending so much money on my hair stuff, I'd like ot get away with buying cheaper stuff like soap.

I find generic pepcid AC does NOT help me with my asian flush.

However, I do use their tampons, generic multivitamins, apple juice (just tried that the other day), and toilet paper are fine.

I use their Dave knock off soaps and I like em and bath tissue and stuff. Honestly you have to try the generic to see if you like cuz some people do and some don't so you can't go just on recommendations. I like most of the one's I tried....

Usually the generic products contain the same ingredients. Problem is, they don't have it in the same ratios... Therefore, are not the same product at all.

    IMO- most of them suck.

IMO, only some of the generics are okay, like the baby wipes they are the exact same but in stuff like the body lotion it just seem so watered down, the toilet paper is fine but to me their tampons suck, so i think everything's different, spulrge on some & not on others. the best way to find out is trial and error.

generic is ok for somethings, but not for others. seriously study ingredient lists, even inactive ingredients. target brand items are actually pretty good. equate from walmart, however...
