    Default rancid coconut oil

Why is mny cocobnut oil going rancid? It doesnt say it needs refridgerated, and if I do refrig. it then it's o hard to usse and I have to heat it up to sofften it before I can use it...but if I dont refridg. it, then it goes rancid and aweful smellin in 3 days. And I just realized it was spoiled after I put it in my hair and I'm sitting here thinking WTF is that smell??? Ugh. nastyness.

yup. it's supposed to be fresh..this is the second time this has happened with the same brand tho..so maybe it's the brand, but it's the only kind GNC sells. The first time this happened I was on vacation and it stunk up all the luggage with moldy rank smell, it was terrible.

I'd take that mess back and get a refund. I don't know why it's spoiling like that. Does it have any additives or additional ingrediants in it?

IDK what to say, although that's not suppose to happen. I could put mine in a room at any temperature and that doesn't happen. I don't like it in the fridge either bc of the hardness. Try another brand, maybe that's it. I get mine at Walmart.

I just keep mine in the fridge. It warms up enough for me to scrape some out after about 8 min or so...and then I just melt it in the palm of my hand before applying.
If you're just using it for hair and skin, microwaving is fine, but do be aware that heating it that way changes the properties of the oil and takes away some of the nutrient value. Just FYI.

    It's in the supplement/vitamin isle.

Also want to add that their(Walmart) collagen supplements have made my old rigid stretch marks look barely noticeable... along with the coconut. Just thought i'd throw that in there.
