I saw the first two episodes. It's pretty good. Call me shallow, but I think it would be even better if they had a hotter guy...he looks really old. Buuuuut that's just me. I also thought the black people were so annoying in that show, I dunno why they made them like that.

^^Everyone is annoying in that show not just the black people. I really like it though and I think the main vampire is sexy and definately hot. The acting isn't that good and I'm not even sure about the story line but it is entertaining.

I like the show, and I think Tara the best friend, is fucking HILARIOUS! She is the biggest bitch ever and its a RIOT! Storyline wise it seems alittle weak but also appears to be developing rather quickly - hopefully the progression keeps on!

They already ordered another season to be shot.

I really liked the first two episodes too. I like Anna Pacquin (Rougue on X-men) as an actress. She looks a lot like I would imagine Sookie to look like. (I liked the episodes so much, I went and bought the first two books of the series).

I don't think the vampire is the hottest guy ever, but the chemistry between the two characters is hot. I also like the premise about vampires trying to live peacefully among humans.

Have it recording on my DVR, my girls like to make a night of it so we all wait to watch it together (like tonight, yay). I adore Anna Paquin, she's so cute!

OOOOOOOOOoo my friend is an extra at the bar in the first 5. I don't have HBO but it looked really good.

Is it on HBO at demand yet?

Saw the first ep and didn't feel inclined to watch it ever again. Pretty weak for HBO imo

I watched all the episodes that are out so far. I am a sucker for vampire shows/movies (haha pardon the pun). honestly, I think it could be better, but it also seems promising. i think it will continue to get better as time goes on like many shows do and also...I too wish the actor playing bill was hotter.

It is good, escapist, entertainment and I am enjoying it on that level, but those looking for "high art" should go elsewhere.

BTW, while we are on the subject, is it needed to point out the obvious: That it is just possible that if you are willing to judge the worth of someone simply by what you read on a website about them it might say a whole hell of a lot more about you than it says about the person you are judging?

We really wanted to like it, and even watched the second episode after we were bored with the first one... just to see if it got better. It didn't, and I don't think we'll give it another try.

Like it a lot,the characters are being developed and the good/evil story line is heating up!
    Alan Ball is genius...
Sookie and Tara are so well-acted,nice to see such strong, interesting, female roles. The scenes with Tara and her alcoholic Mom were so human and sad.
Will be fun to see how it plays out! LOVE the MUSIC,OMG...check this out,I wish more shows would do this:

I just got into this show. Am I behind or what? I stumbled on an episode and found out it was on demand and that was all she wrote. First off, I am a fan of shows like Buffy, Angel, and the Charmed Ones, so getting into True Blood is not too much of a stretch. Thanks to on demand, I am all caught up with the season and am looking forward to the finale.

Love it! I find myself cracking up over the craziness of some of these characters. I'm totally into this show. I won't get into nit-picking what I don't like about the show, except, the intro. I don't mind the song, but the images of church and blood and other strange stuff is not working for me, ooh yuck. I'm always fast-forwarding through the beginning, but other than that I'm hooked.

    ehhh....

I saw the first few episodes. The tension between vampire/human interaction is good, the use of vampire blood as a drug is dead interesting, but I just get bored with the Sookie/Bill love story.

I keep wondering who's killing off everyone, I was bummed that Sookie's gramma died, but I think I'll check out the book to figure that part.

I like it. I too, wish Bill was hotter but oh well. I found the first and maybe the second episode overacted but this is true of many pilot episodes.

Remember "Six Feet Under" (also by Alan Ball)? The pilot episode of that was WAY overacted but evolved into being one of my most favorite series.

I'm glad you guys don't think Bill is hot, because that way you'll all leave me alone when I'm ripping Stephen Moyer's pants off...and I won't get your calls while we're doing disgusting grown-up things.

Seriously, middle aged Englishmen with hot fake Southern accents FTW.

Modern version of Dark Shadows. Now that they've decided that there are werewolves, too, it will be interesting to see how they get Frankenstein's monster into it.
