I love to see great pole work. I was recently in a club and it was super slow. There was like 6 girls and 3 guys. One girl came up on the stage who I knew did awesome work on the pole. She seemed kinda lax that day, so I mentioned it to her. She said there weren't enough guys there to put on a show for. So I gave her $40 to do her whole routine, loved every minute of it.

There's been a couple people who were so awesome flying around in the air that I forgot I was at a stripclub and started enjoying the surprisingly good show. But it's not why most people go to a nudie bar, you know? It's more of a circus style sideshow. Now I'm wondering why all stripclubs have poles. Have they found that the customers complain when there's no pole? Is it part of the legal definition of stripclubs?

Seeing this topic made me laugh imagining a dancer leaving the pole to talk to a customer to tell him: "That's a pole." (pointing to the pole). "This is a pole too." (somehow contacting customer's crotch). "They told me I'm supposed to 'work the pole' but now I'm confused." "Can you help me?" "Financially?" "Because I'd like to practice some new pole tricks on you first before I try them on stage." "Maybe later we can mosey on over to the back room and I can crotch test you." "For sturdiness." "That is a load bearing member, right?" "Oh, hey, I almost forgot--this is my ass."

(Anyway, this is how I would behave if I were a stripper.)
Well, since you asked, what I'd really like in this next dance is more armpit.

LOL from a dancers POV, Neither pole or stagework has made me my biggest tips onstage. I have a special FIRE trick that involves my nipples. I do notice polework did make me more tips. I cannot do the splits, but I have been practicing more floorwork. I think a bad ass routine containing both and maybe as crazy as it sounds some breakdancing moves would definately stand out! The first time I tried my first pole tricks, a WOMAN came up to me and threw $40 down. She said it was because I was ACTUALLY dancing! Here in Vegas there are alot of girls who dont even bother with the pole, but In any smaller town I have visited girls put on a great stage show!

Floor show for me. My biggest tips to them onstage are when they come up and rub up against me real good...giving me some mileage.
I like SC gals with tats; they really turn me on, especially if they like to play.

I get the most stage tips from great music selection, regardless of my style of dancing. I haven't learned pole tricks yet, in almost 5 years of dancing! One day!!!!

Glad someone asked this. When pole moves become about showing off acrobatic ability, it's just deviating from the erotic purpose of the dance. Floor work is better in that regard. Most strippers aren't athletic enough to make it look nice - it looks awkward. (We wouldn't necessarily like a stripper's body if she were that athletic.) As long as it serves the purpose of the dance, I don't care if you are dancing on the floor or the pole.

I see quite of few ladies who do both pole and floor work doing well for themselves. My favorite style is one or two unique pole tricks to get initial attention and a lot of really sexy floor work, eye contact maybe a smile... Call me indecisive by saying i like both styles

Floor work to me is just writhing around. I don't go to stripclubs to see dancing, but with a pole there is at least a focus on the stage where a dancer can do what she does best and try and get a customer's attention. And I have gotten LD's from a dancer because her pole tricks were impressive.

I will tip a girl for great pole work, but it wont necessarily get me to ask her for a dance. Neither will floor work for that matter. I never know until i talk to her. U can give great dances but have no game elsewhere and it just doesnt work for me. If there is no interaction then i could stay home and watch porn which does nothing for me either.

No, because she wouldn't really be doing floor work on your lap either. What does she do on your lap -- uh, lap work?

I have been very impressed with some pole work I've seen, and I did tip extra on stage, however, it wasn't sexy. It was fun to watch as entertaining gymnastics, but that's all. It didn't do anything towards convincing me to get a private dance. I like a more sensual style, and pole work/tricks look rather strenuous pretty quickly and stop being sensual.

My thoughts exactly. Anything done slowly and sensually is great. Too many pole tricks, escpecially if they're not done smoothly, and you may as well be watching the uneven bars competition in the olympics. Not sexy.

    Floor show all the way.

While I appreciate a good pole routine, I did spend my teenage years a scant few blocks away from the Thunderbird Flea Market in Fort Lauderdale in the mid-late 80s and I saw more acrobatics there than I'll wager the 10 best pole workers in the world can match.

I like to do pole antics because they're an awesome workout. Been doing them for about ten months now (been dancing for a year).

I love watching pole work so I tip more for good performances. I also prefer athletic dancers so I tend to get dances from the better pole dancers. Strength and athletic prowess adds to the turn on if the dancer has a sweet personality.

If we're just talking tips, I'll probably tip more for really impressive pole work over floor work because of the degree of difficulty and risk. Not to go all Olympics on the topic, but there's something pretty darned impressive about a gal who plants her stiletto heels on the ceiling from 20 or more feet up and manages to execute a credible dance move. If what you're doing up there is one bad shift away from cracking your skull open, sure you deserve an extra tip for that. I tipped a girl who was just practicing in street clothes and showing off to her friends (think it was a cage stage at the Men's club in Raleigh) because it was quality stuff. Turns out she was a stripper in Vegas who was in town visiting a girlfriend.

Music selection by itself gets me to the stage and asking for a dance.

right! for me thats important, one of the main reasons i go is for loud music.. well and pole but yeah.. ^^ the music helps them get into it more~ so if theyre just dancing to whatever.. their attitude is going to be meh whatever~

when i teach basic stuff for pole/floor we dance to porn star dancing just for them to get into it and make them wanna flip their hair and roll their hips lol
