Ugh, now I'm getting nervous. But not for that reason.

Someone on here mentioned a local club that I'd wanted to give a try at. She and I were PMing back and forth a bit (thank you again!!) and she also gave me some info on the sister club here in the state. I decided the sister club was a better idea.

Two days ago I sent an online application, noting the promise of them "contacting me soon." No word. Earlier today I called to find all the managers were in a meeting until about 5 or 5:30.

I just called back and talked to a manager, and I was invited to come in before 9pm when said manager leaves.

And I'm getting nervous, but not because I don't think I'll get hired. Not to be conceited, but I'm pretty durned sure they will hire me. I'm nervous because of not knowing the rules because they never spell them out or where rules can be bent.. knowing I'm a "new girl" and will be watched more closely than any of the regular girls, and just plain feeling awkward in a new place. Plus, will I get the chance to have a locker, or will I worry half the night about my things being stolen? I could stop by a Walmart and pick up a cheap lock in case I do get a locker. Some girls just don't care, they take because it's there and because they can get away with it.

I wonder if there's a house mom... that might come in handy in this case.

Let go of your worries, accept that you have to be the "new girl" tonight, know that it's a fleeting position to be in, trust that you will be ok, and take it all as it comes. Good luck!

Thanks for the luck.. but no go last night. It was dead, dead, DEAD. If It hadn't been my first night, I would have walked out with $2. It was still under $50, but better than $2 for sure.

The owner took me into the office and we talked for a bit. He wasn't at the club when I came in, and he didn't introduce himself, so at one point I had to say, "I assume you're one of the owners..." because of the way he was talking.

I've worked for about 5 clubs now total, and this man was the sweetest owner or manager I've come in contact with in the business. He spoke to me like a peer, with respect and kindness. When another dancer or a bouncer would try to come in, he would get an annoyed look and ask that person to leave because we were in a meeting. The interrupter would then apologize to the owner and myself, and it was clear that the owner found this sort of thing to be very rude.

I asked a lot of questions, including several things that I would never have asked an owner or manager at any new-to-me club. He just made me feel THAT comfortable. He complimented me, and I sensed the sincerity of them. Sure, there were beautiful girls already working there, but in general, I could see why. Most of them had body types that would not be considered mainstream "beautiful." At least one I saw was VERY thin. Too thin, if you ask me. Another was about 20 pounds overweight with a belly. A few others had a more boyish shape. Only one or two I saw were similarly shaped to me or more "mainstream" stereotype shaped. Also, most of them did not wear much makeup. They still looked pretty, it was just not the more glam-style that I'm used to seeing more and more often at my long-time club, and have been experimenting with myself lately. Being differently shaped and unique is always a plus!

PLEASE no flaming on the previous paragraph. These women were BEAUTIFUL and I'm sure they make their money. My only point is that they were not what the "mainstream" world would consider model material.

Sooooo... said owner asked me to come back in tonight. He claimed that Fridays were much, much busier and that I would do "very well" there, especially after establishing a few regulars. The club does things a bit differently, which I like. The money from dances or VIP/Champagne rooms (same thing) to a bouncer at a register. They mark you down and give you a receipt. At the end of the night, you come to said bouncer and trade in your receipts for your cash. Each dancer keeps anything she makes on stage on her.. but this means that if someone tries to take a purse, it is likely to have much less cash in it.

The rules at this club are bit more lax on the side of the dancer than at anywhere else I've worked. The rules for the customer seem to be more clearly enforced. It makes it easier to make money within my comfort zone while also being sure the customer is not touching me. The VIP/Champage rooms are less expensive here. The owner said that girls can upsell if they like. At the other place, the champagne room min charge for 1/2 hour was $300, of which I'd get $200, and I'd be nude. Here, the min is $185, dancer earning $100 if cash or $90 if credit, and topless. At the other club, light touching (no crotch) is expected. At this club, no touching by the customer is allowed.

So now I need to figure out what to charge at the new place. Need a reasonable number, but also need to upsell myself because I am WORTH it. Also need to figure out how to word it, because of the way they take the $ and hold it for us. I assume they would consider the extra money a "tip" and I may end up hanging onto that extra amount myself.

    Any ideas, ladies?

My club gives receipts for VIP also, you can choose cash or receipt. I like it because I can just pick up all my money at the end of the night and not worry about it getting stolen or lost.

First I would tell the host (or whoever takes the money) what you will be charging so theres no weirdness when you go to sell the room. If he knows what you charge he can make it seem normal. "The rooms with VeraLynn are $300 per half hour" then if you want you can get him to negotiate down. I love that I dont have to do any negotiations myself.... I just drag the guy to the room with promises of privacy and fun and then let the host do all the work.

Come to think of it maybe thats why I do so well - because hes really good at selling rooms... and doing all the work. All I have to do is get them back there... I usually just flirt and when they ask prices I say we should go ask the host because silly me! I dont remember how much the rooms are! I havent been here long. *giggle*

LOL that's awesome. I don't know if that will work for this club yet, not sure if the guy will be willing to negotiate for me. $300 sounds a little expensive considering the comparison to the other club.. then again, if I negotiate, it is a good starting point. $250 always sounds better if it started at $300.

Yes it does! Or start at $250 and negotiate down to like $220 or whatever. However you wanna work it.
