I have more bills since I've started dancing and I'm getting my own place this weekend, so I'll be even more broke. LOL. I think that's how it goes, nobody ever feels rich bcuz the more money we make, the more financial responsibilities we take on.

My expenses are about hte same, maybe a little more on "personal" grooming and such.

I don't feel richer, but i feel like i have more leeway if there's a luxury item i WANT to save for. I'd rather be savign for things anyways. It gives me purpose.

I can't seem to live within my means. If I was making club money when I was living the way I was 2 years ago, I'd have so much saved up. But no, I get money and suddenly I'm capable of having internet, and cable, and a huge HD tv, and two cars, and this and that. It all adds up eventually.

For years I did - I lived on $50/shift, cause that's more than I'd have been making at McDonalds, and saved the rest.

Now I want it all, I'm pissed when I can't make a grand a night (which is most of the time, obviously). But I'm still gratefull for not having to work every day.

I feel secure. Rich? I grew up in a region full of millionaires and billionaires- my little nest egg is nice for me but still tiny in the bigger picture. But I got it on my own.

I feel rich knowing I COULD buy nice things, but I have more responsible ways to spend my money. I guess I feel rich when I'm around other college friends who can't affort Chipotle lol and believe me a lot of people can't afford little things like that. So I guess in the sense that I can eat what I want and go on Target shopping sprees at my hearts desire, I feel rich.

I felt rich when I first started dancing because I was used to making a living on $8.00/hr, but like everyone else said, once I started making more money I started incurring more expenses. Dancing doesn't make me feel rich anymore, but I feel financially secure.

now not anymore... because I got used to the money always being there so I don't work as often as I should and don't have as much cash lying around.

I feel pretty rich, not like bill gates rich, but I'm very comfortable in knowing there's nothing i really really want that i cant afford. I'm very happy with the lifestyle stripping has provided me. I have a huge house, a luxury car i travel a lot and i'm still saving money too. On the other hand I'm still cheap, and all the above mentioned stuff was bought on a huge discount (my house was a bank owned foreclosure) and i still shop at ross and marshals. So i kind of feel like i appear richer than i am becuase i'm spending a lot less for the crap that i buy.
These days I like to count my money. I like to wash it delicately and iron it. Sometimes I dry it with some bounty to make it all nice and cuddly. I love my money... did I say that out loud?

^^^^Can I get an Amen for bank owned foreclosures?! That's the route I'm taking when I buy my own house.

On another note, you don't appear richer than you are in my eyes because if you think about it, the richest people in the world get all their shit for huge discounts (or free)

LMAO me too! I'd be out with my friends eating dinner and I'd be like, "that's ok I GOT IT!" lol..

Now, it seems like the more money I make, the more bills I have..I swear! I was better at saving my money when I had a $14/hr job..

exactly....i was waitressing before i started dancing and worked 50 hours a week busting my ass. my first night dancing i worked like 5 hours, didnt know what the hell i was doing and made over 200 on a sunday night. that would take me a whole weekend waitressing so i was like hell yeah!!! but after making good money my means of living stepped up. i wanted to go out to nice nice dinners with my friends, designer bags, and if i stayed at a friends house and didnt feel like driving home to get clothes i would just go to the mall and buy a new outfit for the next day. then i started to slack and take weeks off at a time. im just now getting back into working 4-5 nights a week so i can save save save. i dont shop as much now, and i stay home on my days off so i can just chill out.

Hey where are you working at in the city? I used to live down there, in the North side of the loop. I moved out to the burbs to be closer to my club. I used to be great when the economy was great. I loved shopping at Bebe. These days, not so much. It'll get better I hope.

When I was dancing in Vegas and Chicago I felt like that...which I think is negative, because I wasted a lot of money...(IE I was like who cares if I buy this five hundred dollar purse, I will make the money back tommorrow) instead of saving it.

    Now, not so much. LOL!

NOt me!! There is a difference b/t comfortable, rich and wealthy and i feel POOR!! Im changing that though! My big thing was working only for what i need at the moment. I have recently taken several steps to change that behavior and i feel so much better. Britneyirelands blog has been a big help! And rereading hustle hut and blogs like PrincessParis, and SW suggested books is helping me to want to go to work even more.

definitely not rich, but better off then when i started. IMO most of us probably went through the "feeling like a baller" stage but quickly had a reality check. I agree with a comment someone else made about more money more problems, ain't that the truth. Don't get me wrong though, i do feel content at the moment knowing that if i did want something i could go out & buy it. I'm just not blowing my money like when i first started off. Savings are your friend people, especially right now.

It's super cheesey, but I feel humbled from dancing. I feel privileged.

I've consistently saved about 50% of my dancing money. The money I've spent has gone into my IRA, camera equipment, and things that make me happy. I've met wonderful people, and I've gone from being a total wallflower to a confident person. I have a job that affords me complete financial security--if I decide to continue my schooling after my undergrad, then I can, and I don't have to worry about bills. If my sister moves away from me for grad school, then I have the money to go visit her.

I've never been into buying clothes and whatnot, so I haven't fallen into that sinkhole.

So yeah, I feel rich. Not in the way that I throw money around like it doesn't mean anything (that was the first month of dancing for me), but in the way that I have everything I want.

I would say that being a dancer has opened doors for me and given me opportunities I might not have had... I know I'm not rich but I live a good quality of life. *happy/sunshine*
