    Default Shaving with toothpaste?

The dj at my club suggested that to avoid razor bumps we shave with toothpaste. He says thats how he shaves his head. He claims the peppermint in the toothpaste raises the hairs and allows you to receive a smoother shave. I think I will try applying peppermint oil to the places I will shave before my shower, then using my bikini zone anti-bump shave gel instead of toothpaste. Have any of you ladies heard of this one before?

I've heard of shaving with conditioner when you're out of shaving cream. I use a Bikini zone gel for my area.

Sounds like it would burn to me, but i've never heard of that before. I usually use either deodorant or bikini zone to prevent the razor bumps.

I've never heard of it. I'm thinking that's a pretty expensive use of toothpaste, though.

Toothpaste doesn't sound slippery enough to me to be a good shaving cream substitute. It's very sticky. I am well-acquainted with the stickiness of toothpaste because I used to use it as a hair product after I developed a loathing for gel's shininess but before I discovered beeswax. You know, I've never gotten razor burn or bumps down there-- I get it on my thighs instead, and there is way too much acreage on those to waste that much toothpaste! Lotion and conditioner work when need be, but I just shave everyday, so that takes care of the problem for me. The hairs can't pull when they're that short, and the skin doesn't chafe if you wait until the end of a shower to do it.

Yeah, ow ow ow! Sounds like that DJ might have been fucking with you.

Ever go to a sleepover when you were a kid and they put toothpaste on someone's eyes? Hurts like a motherfucker. Imagine that sensation in all your tender parts, peppermint burning, seeping in through your open pores and razor nicks...

Yeah, I'll stick with shave gel or conditioner. And apply deodorant after drying off to prevent bumps.

It doesn't sound good...toothpaste on a cold sore burns like hell, so imagine if you knick yourself while shaving

^ It works soooo well. Especially if you apply it on directly after you shave... Also, I find that solid only works.

so the best thing to avoid the bumps is to apply deodorant right after shaving, any kind? what works best, solid or liquid?

about the toothpaste thing, never tryed but all i know is that is whitens the skin, so girls i know us that to whiten their darker inner thighs, i tried twice, but it hurtsss like hell for about 15min, and sleeping with toothpaste btween ur leg isn't very confy, but it did work though, i've peeled off, after i used it twice. but it's too harsh for me.

I prefer a solid deodorant, but you will probably hear that girls like both. Honestly, I think its a preference.

I dont like a liquid/gel because I dont like that sticky feeling while it drys.
