Default Quick Shower Routine.. butter soft skin

So the only time I feel really good all over after showering.. is when I do a bizillion things to different body parts.. first dry brush body.. then mask for face, let shaving cream sit on bikini area, wash and deep condition hair.. then after toner.. serum.. lotion for face.. different for body.. different for feet and hands..
So there are many times Im like oh welly.. and just wash and slather some lotion and say well at least I'm clean.. but I don't feel really good

Then I discovered this super simple routine that Ive been doing twice a day for the past week .. I almost like it better than my usual long routine

Now I have pretty good skin.. I don't have breakouts .. just really dry skin some bikini irritation and dry hair..so this works for me.. but if you have different skin it may be a nightmare

Strip down and hop in shower
From forhead to bottom of feet lather and scrub with Lofah Soap (it's gritty, mild and I get it at Whole Foods)
While all is still soaped up and wet .. slather St. Ives Elements Microdermabrasion (comes in bluish tube found at normal stores) on my face, chest area and bikini area
Leave all that soapy gloop on while rinsing hair really really good.. getting down to scalp with the warm water really rubbing with fingertips (water washing no shampoo) and putting Pantene ProV Restoratives for Breakage protection all over
    Rinse body... leaving conditioner in
    Then do my shaving
Then rinse hair really really good..
My hair is a bit flatter . ..just using the conditioner.. but its silky soft and kindof bouncy and my natural waves are all over the place.. not greasy at all (but remember I have naturally dry hair)

When I get out just dab off with towel.. don't rub off water.. just get the "droplets" off

Using just ONE lotion from head to toe
Curel for Menopause and beyond (regular grocery store).. this is the one for the really OLD ladies..

I take gobs and smear all over my face and body so it still has white streaks and is thick
Then start at face again and work it in going from head to toe
    Then one more time..
Then take towel and go over from head to toe getting off excess (don't rub) just massage

Just using the lofah soap, microdermabrasion scrub , conditioner and this lotion..

I tried doing the lotion routine from head to toe with St Ives w/Collagen but didnt have the same creamy buttery effect

Showers still take abotu 1/2 from beginning to lotioning end but definitly streamlined things.. I havent "shampooed" my hair in over a week (i dont use styling products though) and my hair is still really soft.. the key is really washing with the warm water and rinsing the conditioner out really well

idk that still sounds like a lot of work for a daily shower. My 'simple' shower is -wet hair -conditioner in -soap body -wash face -rinse everything. And my 'complicated' shower just adds shampoo, a face exfoliant (maybe body), and shaving. I guess I'm not high maintenance in the shower unless I really wanna be.

That's like me, I don't feel "clean" unless I complete my regime lol.. But I'm high-maintenance.

    This is my routine:

-As soon as I get into the shower, I rinse my hair with water only.
-Shampoo afterwards, making sure to focus on the scalp
-I sometimes use a hair exfoliator (well, a scalp exfoliator from Sephora. It's GREAT, it gets rid of any "build up" and leaves a tingy feeling on your scalp..Menthol lol)
-I condition & I let my conditioner sit for five minutes. That's when I begin to exfoliate my body AND put on my *in shower* face mask
-After the body exfoliation, I shave my legs, armpits, privates
-Rinse the conditioner out of my hair
    -Use a regular body wash

When I'm out of the shower, I don't dry my body totally, but I pat it down. I use a different lotion for my feet, body, boobs, and face/neck. Sometimes I layer lotions/oils.

After that, I just spray some leave-in conditioner in my hair, along w/ a cocktail of defrizzing cream & shine serum.

    & then I'm done

exactly.. if I could just "wash and go" things would be fine
but unless i really take time and dry brush.. do the mask and all the different lotions and potions.. after about an hour my skin is dry and i lose that dewey feel

may seem like alot for a "quick" routine.. but its half the time as before
by the time I leave the bathroom Im ready to just get dressed.. before it was more lotion

honestly though this curel for menopause and beyond works great all over even my face..

i read somewhere the reason your skin feels so good after a spa treatment .. is the product quality but more importantly the technique
we usually just slather and go but they take gobs (golf ball size) of lotion and really take time and work it in..
i think thats why going over my body 3 times makes all the difference.. then just dab off with a towel

actually i do use another lotion for my hands and feet.. especially my feet
neutrogena small tube norieghn formula or something .. sorry for spelling
its thick and nasty but if you really rub it in good .. take the time .. lovely

After I get out of the shower, I towel off, then apply lotion, then apply cocoa butter oil gel. The lotion makes the oil go on really smooth, and I stay soft all day and night.

I keep a pedicure brush in the shower and use it all over with the Caress Oil body wash stuff in the summer, Olay body butter ribbons in the winter, then I just need light lotion if I'm dry in any spots.

Does your head not itch from not washing. My hair is uber thick and dry and coarse as hell, but everytime I've tried condish washes my head got all itchy and I was digging at it all day. Do you wash daily? Maybe it's because I only wash every 2 or 3 days.

I started the no shampoo thing after reading about just using baking soda on the scalp and apple cider vinegar on the ends.. rinsing really good and using conditioner every few days if needed

    didnt work for me

so started just the conditioner.. i had this fancy expensive organic marshmellow root or something but it made my hair greasy.. id like to find something organic but this pro-v is the best yet.. there is another formula that works just as well

but.... it took several weeks to get where my scalp didnt itch and my hair didnt get weirdly greasy
so i'd just shampoo every couple of days.. eventually just twice a week.. now Im at just once a week and just do it really quick.. i don't lather my hole head up into a poufy bubble like I used to

but i have dry thin hair wavy hair

    Oooh! I love your routine!
I do a similar routine, except I scrub myself head to toe with one of those Japanese wash cloths and a glycolic body wash that I buy online. The Japanese wash cloths are really long, and have a rough texture, but they make your skin feel SO SMOOTH AND SOFT!!!! My man comments all the time on how soft my skin is.

I think I am definitely going to try the loofah soap though!

Oh, and I use Johnson & Johnson's SoftWash body wash with baby oil in it to shave. It makes my skin really easy to shave and I usually don't even need lotion afterwards.

    Ok who's seen American Psycho???
Someone tell me this thread reminds them of it....

But quick question what is it about the old lady lotion that is so great? Does it smell like old people?
And I've read elsewhere on here about brushing your body before an Epsom salt bath and I can concure that that also does the trick.

the curel for menopause and beyond (they have ones for in your 20's and 30's ect.. this is the one for the most ancient of us of all) actually smells pretty clean..
Not the cinnamon bun smell I prefer in a lotion but you have that fresh from the clothes line smell

I have been using it even on my face like I said for a couple weeks now and noticed my face was a bit dull looking yesterday.. I think it may be too thick and pore clogging despite all the washing .. i dont think washing my face more is good so may just start using lotion made for the face...

honestly though my skin feels firmer and tighter .. a noticeable difference so i think this lotion is really good for something under $5
