    Default Crazy Hair Color

How many of you have rocked a crazy unnatural hair color? Or does it almost always work against you? I had an impulsive moment and dyed my hair raspberry Kamikaze and it's CRAZY but I think it might look darker in a club setting... I hope! It's like more of an intense fuchsia or magenta red because I had my hair about a 6-7 red before... lol. (Maybe if I find my camera I'll post a pic..)

I've had my hair a muuuuuch brighter red than that. Look at my avatar! I always did fine, because I totally rock the suicide girl look. In fact, my hair was so bright, it glowed under the black lights. It works great if you can pull off the cute goth/avril levine look.

Tip: if you're really motivated (and do full nude, like me) , grow a little landing strip, bleach it with facial hair bleach, and dye it the same color as your head! Also works for eyebrows. Just apply dye with a little eyebrow brush or mascara wand so you don't get it all over your skin.

It's generally always hurt my money. I do best when I'm at my blandest hair-wise. I do best traditionally "pretty", not "punky".

But... everyone's different, and some girl's can rock it. And if it's that dark, the club lights will make it look different.

I've had pink hair before. But I would never recommend having pink hair at a club. (Unless you work in a more liberal area like Portland or something).

However, redheads traditionally do very well. So maybe an intese red is a good idea.

I've done bright red and purple. But the bright red quickly turned into a hot pink... right now is the most normal I've had my hair in years, no outrageously short hair, nothing dyed... and it's driving me crazy! I just want to bleach and dye my whole head light purple or pink, but I'm fighting the urge, because I'm sure I look better with my below chin-length, thick, dark brown hair. *sigh*

Anyways, while we're on the subject... if I decide to do anything crazy ever again, what should I use that won't turn to pink so quick? I have yet to find a crazy color that lasts for awhile.

My friend wears hers pink (currently).
It was bright purple in the past.

I don't think it made a difference for her one way or the other.

Hmmm.... I suggest a two pronged approach. L'oreal Feria R68 (Ruby Rush) is a sexy permanent red hair dye. Combine it with a color depositing shampoo or glaze and you're set. Pantene, John Frieda, and a few other companies make color enhancing products that keep your hair bright and not brassy.

For extra oomph you can add a few streaks of Special Effects over the dyed hair... I like Blood Red.... http://www.amphigory.com/se_blood_red.html It will fade over time... so you can just use it in between colorings.

I'm about to go into work for the first time with this crazy hair, so I'll let you know what happens. I'm in a smallerish club so it could very well work against me, but we'll see!

For the crazy awesome bright colors SFX brand works GREAT. I've tried everything and it's all faded pretty bad within a week or two. With SFX i had hot hot hot pink hair and it lasted a few months I eventually just died over it.

I formerly had purple, black, and red hair, but I was working for a modeling agency at the time, not in a club.

I will say that the upkeep on purple hair is a BITCH!

Actually my money has been doing better but I'm not sure if it's the hair or the change in my hustle, or maybe both. I've become more aggressive in my hustle to help weed out the majority of time wasters that come in during the day shift... but I've noticed that the bright magenta hair attracts the guys who love redheads. So that's nice!

Ditto. I put SFX pink in my hair and it would not come out. So far its the only color I've tried that has barely faded. I've also tried green, blue, orange, and purple but they fade quickly.

I always get more compliments on my hair when its an abnormal color, but I don't think it effects my money.

I think its about personality and hustle not your hair color. My show partner always has crazy hair and she is one of the top earners!

Not all girls are as hot as Squeak. Also, even though she is hot... many clubs wouldn't hire her because of her look.

I think the reason I'm getting away with it is because there are NO redheads at my club. I'm actually amazed that no other girls are tunning in to the oppurtunity. The whole redhead thing, whether fake looking or natural, seems to work like a charm. There's another girl I saw who came into night shift with blonde and pink hair, but she's the only other unnatural hair color I've seen there so far. It seems that the other girls talk way more shit about hair than the customers. I've only gotten compliments from the customers; it's just the other girls who try to make me feel like crap because of whatever- hair, weight, clothes, shoes; they try everything to try and make me feel bad lol. Oh well! Feels like I'm in freakin' high school again lol.

my hair is currently a super bright purpleish red.

it's been every shade and tone of "red" possible...

    bright orange
    bright orange-red
    red-red
    purple-red
    pinkish-purple

    etc.

My personal experience in a very conservative area was that it didn't hurt my money at all. And in some cases, it increased it with the younger crowd.

    Mine was pink BTW.

i wanted to add: while i do well with my various shades, i -know- i would lose money if it were, say, teal.

i want badly to have teal hair again (havent for 12 years) but i know it wouldn't fly... not in my area anyway.

as far as pink goes, ive seen bright pink -highlights- work on girls in the club before.

^^ I LOVE the teal hair colors I've seen. I wish I could get away with that too but I'm sure it'd be a no-go. Maybe sometime when I take a long vacation I'll do the teal color. It's SO pretty!

Ok... I'm gonna chime in with a clarification. Red... even crayola red, in my opinion is not a crazy color. It's really mainstream in my area, and it is subdued in a dark club... actually it looks better than a natural auburn.

Same goes for blonde/white hair...... at this point I do not consider it a "crazy" color.

The colors I was talking about possibly hurting your earnings are squarely in the pink, orange, yellow, green, blue category. Even purple... if mixed in with black will not be detrimental. Again, that is my and the clubs by me are on the conservative side.

I am currently white-bonde and manic panic's Hot, Hot Pink. It seems t be working out just fine. I've done the razzberry kamikaze before too, and people told me that it looked better with my coloring.

I get a lot of attention from small children when out and about. It is also a good conversation starter in the club. If you like your unusual hair color, who cares what everyone else thinks? You are the one who has to wear your hair everyday, after all.
