    Default Working Without an ID?

So my wallet was stolen along with my drivers license inside of it. I already went to the DMV to get it replaced and they gave me a temporary paper thing that says my name and that I can drive. I really want to audition at a couple new clubs, but all I have is this stupid piece of paper. Do you think they will let me work with it? Even though the paper specifically says it is only good for driving and not job applications.

You dont have a passport or a picture ID to accompany it?

I dont think theyd let you work if its not a picture ID.

Everything was in that stolen wallet. I do have an old high school ID though. Would that work?

Ah. I keep my passport separate, thats why I asked.

You know, I would seriously just call the clubs you're interested in, explain the situation, and see what they say.

I really doubt that a club would let you start working without photo id. You could always call and ask though. How long does it take for you to get a new driver's license? Maybe you could audition anyway and they'll let you start working once you get it? In my state, you can get one instantly if you go to the DMV on certain days of the week.

Uhm. You need a photo ID. Not just for clubs, but for every other aspect of life. WTF DMV is this that they gave you a random paper? When I lost my ID, I brought in all my documentation (verifying who I am) and they issued me a new ID.

You should go back and get your ID. Really.

I worked @ a club with no ID before--they just told me to keep hush hush about it. It was a hole- in- the wall type of club tho.

Depends on the state. In California you have to wait a couple weeks for your ID to come in the mail. I know some states will issue you a new one on the spot but some dont.

To the OP. I highly doubt they will even let you IN the club without ID let along let you audition or work. A couple weeks waiting for an ID in the mail isnt much in the aspect of life....
