Default Chasing a WEIRD sleep pattern...HELP!!!

So for the last month I have been going to bed later and later than my usual 6 am. Because of this I have been waking EXTREMELY tired because my body likes to sleep when its dark out I guess, anyway so 3 hours after I wake I get tired and take a small nap (like 2 hrs) This nap then makes me stay up even later and longer (till like 10am) and I justify it because I don't feel tired from my nap. So I am in this weird sleep cycle and don't know what to do because its making me miss working out and work as well because I am not waking up in time to get ready for it. Someone told me to just stay up for like 24 hours and tough it out but I wouldn't be able to work with no sleep . Also I have sleep medications on hand; they work but make me sleep too long and don't remedy the REAL problem of my sleep pattern. HELP SOMEONE!!!

The staying awake and toughing it out method is a quick fix and it has always worked for me, but if you don't think that you can do it (It is hard, you will be super tired almost to the point of being too wired to sleep), then try to force yourself to go to sleep a half hour or so earlier each night until you get on a more comfortable sleep schedule. Try taking a warm bath, reading a book, or anything that relaxes you to make you sleepier and just lay in bed a half hour earlier than you usually do. Your body will eventually get back on track if you gradually start going to bed at an earlier time.

Get an eye mask, it blocks light so you can sleep during the day.
