    Default Favorite at-home exercises?

So, as I'm sitting here waiting to get my paycheck on Friday, so I can get my $144 dancer's license so I can finally go back to work, I feel my body softening. Bleh.

After 2 months of working only part time min wage, I really don't have the money to get a gym membership or buy any home equipment (including weights, cords, etc). My body doesn't like running (I get heart palpitations) but I walk everywhere, since I don't have a car. That keeps my body a little toned, but not enough to make me feel confident walking back into a club.

Anyone here exercise at home with no equipment? I do squats and leg lifts, but that's about it so far. Are there any good yoga or pilates moves that are simple and good for toning? I did yoga back in the 'day but I don't remember much :-P

    Thanks ladies!

I just got a pilates video for dancers from target for $13 and it has five 10 minute sections for arms and chest/tummy and back/ butt and thighs/ your entire silhouette and the pilates perfect stretch. This has got to be the best $13 i've ever spent in my life.

I did it twice and girls at work asked what I was doing b/c I looked more toned.

    Or a jump rope.

    A text I got:

Lay on the couch on your back and lift your legs to a 45 degree angle for as long as you can, that will tighten the abs. Or do the "plank"... lay on your stomach on the floor, supporting yourself on your forarms and toes, or do the similar move on your side. Stack your feet, one on top of the other, and raise yourself up on your arm. Hold these moves for as long as possible and you will see results! Good Luck!

Thanks for the tips, ladies! I esp liked the leg lift on the bed, really felt it! And thanks for the link to crossfit.com, I didn't see that on the BB links. Probably should be up there.

I second the jumprope! I just started jumping rope again and I swear my ass is 3 inches higher than it was before.

I third the jumprope suggestion. You can get one for under $5 at Walmart. Another cheap workout is to just turn on some great music and boogie your butt off

I love jump rope, but I live in an apartment building and I'm not looking for anything that's going to make my walls shake. But I will be boogie-ing down every time the bf leaves--it's a studio apartment, and me boogie-ing down tends to get a bit on the strippery side. At least he doesn't mind me doing straddle stretches and leg extensions when he's home
