Default To shave bald or not to?

The search isn't letting me find posts, so sorry in advance if there is another post on this topic. I'm sure there is, so please feel free to point it out to me.

What works best for you? Landing strip or completely bald? I'm doing the bald thing, but it's a pain to keep up. Any comments or tips on how to keep it looking good both ways?

I've been bald for my whole dancing career. I found it much easier to maintain than the landing strip. I just couldn't get the lines straight, LOL.

I've also had laser hair removal to slow down how fast it grows but since I'm somewhat blond down there the laser has not been as responsive as I would have liked so I still have to shave, just not everyday.

I wish I was blond. I have to shave everyday before work since I have black pubes, and I always get ingrowns and nasty red bumps. I feel like having a strip would make the bumps less noticeable.

Landing strip was harder for me because I apparently can't draw a straight line pointing to my vagina very well.

This might be my problem with dating as well.

Well, I'm not completely blond down there but enough that the laser won't zap it all.

It might not be the healthiest option but tanning really helps with razor burn. Bikini zone and deodorant are also effective.

Oh yeah, exfoliating also helps with ingrowns and razor burn too.

I tried the deo the other day and it didn't seem to help much. I had the same amount of bumps as usual. I need to try tat bikini zone.

haha...I wonder if the straight line to the vag really DOES have an effect on dating life.

Would a spray on tan help just as much, or would it make it worse? I've been thinking about doing something, because I'm so pale that I glow like a smurf under the blacklight!! I'm scared of tanning beds, though, because my family has a history of skin cancer, and I've seen how it's aged my mom.

i waxed. best of all worlds. smoother than shaving and the hair growing in was softer and softer (and thinner and thinner).

shaving just led to lots of itching and redness and scratchiness.

It's going to be irritated for awhile, but you'll get used to it. One trick I learned is using conditioner down there when you shave, and using deodorant afterwards to protect it from irritation. This has worked for me since I've learned about it 7 years ago. Also ,try shaving in different directions too. The hairs grow in different directions depending on where it is. If you shave against it, it hurts like hell. I've sorta learned to maneuver it. Kinda difficult to explain.

If you want to get it waxed, you have to grow it all out to like 1/4 of an inch. Not sure if that's correct measurement, but I remember wanting to do it and then not because of how long it would take me to grow it back.

As far as how to shave, I guess it just depends on you, and if you dance topless or nude. When I danced nude, I would switch back and forth to see what reaction I got, but either way worked just as well. I personally just don't like being completely bald because I felt like I looked like a little girl. Just the thought of an old pervert thinking about a 'young pussy' (as in like before puberty) really freaks me out a little. So, I keep a landing strip. I've gotten pretty good at keeping it trimmed, line up and nice. It definitely is higher maintanance though.

i worked nude the majority of my dancing time, and i was quite happy to grow it out to 1/2 inch or so before waxing. waxers don't actually like when women do the minimum 1/4 inch or less (worse yet), because it makes their job harder. plus, in my experience, customers didn't care as far as my stage money went, and it wasn't a factor in private dances, either.

so i preferred waxing. no need for tricks and nostrums to reduce swelling and itching and redness. it was just simpler.

You know, for some reason I thought you meant shaving your head bald. I know there are some pregnant chicks on this site..!

I leave a landing strip. I put two fingers on my mons from the vag up and shave around it...voila! Perfect line. Sometimes I do a heart..but thats harder.

I vary between the two - when bald i like to add little rhinestones for a bit of interest!

Bald is way easier to maintain in my opinion. Also, if you want to avoid razor burn, try using rubbing alcohol right after you shave. It burns for a little, but it gets all the bacteria that causes irritation leading to razor burn out. Then follow that with bikini zone gel.

I recently went bald and I wonder why I didn't think to try it before. When I used to shave, I'd get way too many razor bumps and ingrown hairs. Has anyone ever dyed their pubes a different color?

rhinestones?! OOH I wanna try that! No one at my club does that, and I can cover up the major bumps with them.

I do work in a nude club, but we're only nude onstage, not during LDs. I've wanted to wax and I did right before I started working the very first time. I wanted to keep doing it, but my pubes are soooo dark (black) that they are noticeable when I start to grow them out. I'd have to take time off of work in order to grow it out because we HAVE to take everything off on stage or we get fined (only thing I dislike about my club.) They are even noticeable when I only shave with the grain, so I have to go against, causing pain and bumps. One time, I only shaved with the grain and a guy told me he liked that I kept my hair down there. I'm glad he liked it, but I didn't make much money that night except off of him. I guess that's part of the reason why... sadness.

^^^ Do you use the trimmer and then shave to get it really close so the hairs don't snag on the razor, or do you just use the trimmer and that's all?

I just use the trimmer and I just do it about once and week to keepit maintained. The first time I just trimmed everything down with cuiticle scissors and then used the trimmer. When I did use a razor after I used the trimmer i still had irritation.

I keep it bald. I have tried growing a little patch and such, but I too am no good at straight lines. I dont dance nude so it really isnt a big deal. Nobody can see it except me anyway. I shave srraight down, there is a little bit of stubble cuz I dont get as close but it isnt very noticable and to be honest I dont care. The pain and razor bumps and ingrow hairs just are not worth completly smooth to me.
I ahve never waxed down there, I guess I am scred it will hurt to much. But I do put deoderant on which helps the bumps almost all the time.

I keep it bald or veeery short. If I had enough hair I would do a super thin landing strip. I think its cute and doesn't scare off the guys who don't like it bald.

People always say I have the 'perfect' landing strip. it's kind of funny.

I wax myself & don't shave. I like waxing so much better & the only time I would be bald is if i messed up my landing strip then I'd just wax it all off. Other than that I don't prefer bald b/c it does kind of look pedofile-ish to me.

Different things work for different people. I've been shaving since the shit appeared because I've never liked hair anywhere except on my head. Bald is the best way to go for me. And I prefer an electric razor over manual. Manual always irritates my skin down there. Shave everyday and you won't have to worry about itching. I'd love to try laser hair removal but not everyone knows what they're doing and the last thing I wanna wind up with is a zebra striped hoohoo. I'd like to try the Brazilian wax too but I can't muster up the courage to go for it.
