How long did it take you?

How long did it take you to start making acceptable amounts of money? Obviously "acceptable" is going to be different from stripper to stripper, but I'm interested in how long it took you to go from "newbie" stripper, to bonified hustler! I've been dancing for about 5 months now and I'm still not at all satisfied with the amount of money I make. I have to take into account that my state is getting hit hard by the economy, but damnit, I want more $$$!!! I'm starting to wonder if I can still use my newbie status as an excuse

I have seen some tough summers, but this one is probably the worst yet, and I suspect that's a large part of your problem, especially in Michigan (my old home state, so I know how hard it is now). I have been doing alright here in the Keys, but that's the way my pay is set up, with a 10$ minimum tip. But a lot of the dancers have been hurting, and we are all glad Season is starting at last. Hang in there, hopefully with summer ending things will get better!

Still not doing quite the averages I'd like to see , but I'm really close. I think I want to make a "moderate" amount of money though. I would be happy with less than what many ladies on board consistently make given that I do this part time . I don't want to give up my day job and I don't know how some of the stars on this site hustle full time .... I need time to acclimate after every shift ..... but I'm getting more used to popping back into " me" in less time. My rough guide was that I felt like I needed to at least double or hopefully times by 2.5 what I make in my day job to justify the mental back and forth and mental strain of dancing ( I like the physical work of it and the exercise ) . Everyone is different in terms of other earning potential and what they feel they need to make. From the research I've done ( an excessive amount because I'm a nerd that way ) ..... the dancing conditions that I thought I might find if I looked diligently for them were much more common 5-10 years ago. I think they are really hard to find now or to find them I need to be less scared of other dancers and do more networking to figure out where to work. I posted hourly averages in another thread, but I work in a very high cost of living place, so I feel like I could do much better.

It took me leaving my first club, going broke, then moving onto my second club to really hit my stride and make what I wanted and felt like I should be making.

my first night i made over $200, which was slightly better than average for my club. i made less than that for a month or so, then it picked up to where i was averaging $250 or so a night, which wasn't too shabby at all for a new comer at my club.

i wish money were still that easy to make. $150 is a good night for me these days.

If you just take time and read hustle hut and remember some of the hints then you will do better than half the girls. i just started and there are a good amount of girls that just dont take the time to go out there on the floor and hustle. constantly work the floor, dont half ass your stage performance because thats when customers are watching you and seeing if they might want you to give them a lapdances, and after your performance go out to the floor asap while you are still fresh in their mind. just remember that and stay positive =]

I've always been reasonably satisfied. When I first started I was working 5 hour shifts and making about $160-200 per shift or $30-40/hour. I was satisfied with this at the time. As my income went up, my expectations went up.

I didn't start making real money until I was over 30.

    This is great to hear!

I'm not at the point I want to be, money-wise. I'd like to be pulling around $100 an hour. But my range seems to be more like $20-$50 an hour. Granted, I've only been at this for four months, so I'm still learning. I'm also still in the process of finding a home club. I switch between two--one that is better money, but more of a dive and with higher contact--the other that is nicer, with great management, but very poor earning potential lately.

When I do bachelor parties, I get about $200/hour--but I don't count them in my average because I book them so rarely and also because I think of them as a different entity than stripping in the clubs.

Hopefully I'll find a club where I can hit my goal of $100/hour. Or exceed it!
