Default How much do you make hourly?

We all know the economy isn't so hot right now. I just read a post about someone wanting to know how much she should be making. Might be useful for the newbs (hey, that includes me too). So I thought I'd do a poll...

How much do you make per hour? Like, if you work 8pm to 2am and usually make $250, you'd make about $42 per hour. I know it varies from night to night, but I know I usually average about the same weekly. I just want a realistic estimation during this time...

*goes off to calculate it out*

If you want to say how long you've been doing this, that might be helpful too but entirely optional. And if you pick the last option, you should tell me where you work...

Edit: Okay, I'm dumb, do like $26-50 etc. instead...

It's kind of hard to say since things have taken such a turn for the worse lately, and so suddenly. I'm not really sure if it's going to last, but this weekend was my worse ever. I didn't even make $200 Friday and Saturday combined. Very scary.

I usually make $1000-$1200 weekly. That's working Thurs, Fri, Sat, from
11 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. so that would be between $75 and $100 per hour.

I average anywhere from $80-100 hour, depending on the time of year. I think your average is really affected by if your club makes you work full shifts like mine does from 8 to 3, or if they let you come in later to the prime money making time. I barely make any money until about 11. My average would go WAY, practically double, up if I didn't count those three dead hours I'm practically doing nothing, but required to be there.

I'm still kinda new, so I'm trying to get a hang of this whole hustling thing, but I usually do anywhere from 50-100/hr. Yesterday sucked- it was like, $3 per hour!!!
but i still love to calculate how much I make every night- it's kinda fun!!

I saw the title to this and thought something completely different! At the club I work at we get an actual paycheck.....so that was my first thought when I saw the title.

I've never really added it up but I would say anywhere between $50-100 an hour (not including paycheck) is probably my average.

it doesnt make sense to me to talk in terms of hourly rates in dancing. we are not paid per hour as employees are. a per hour rate is a way of paying an employee.

some hours i have made nothing because i was in the dressing room or for other reasons such as the club being dead. other hours i make $300+. i wouldn't even bother trying to average that out.

i never make much in the beginning of the night because my club doesn't get busy until later on.
in the later hours of the night i usually make $200 per hour.

yeah. it's been really up and down for me lately, so i don't even know what to say.

last week looked like this for me-

    monday - 20.00
    tuesday - 90.00
    wednesday - 5.00
    thursday - 120.00
    friday - 420.00

right now there's almost always 2 times as many girls as customers, so every shift about 1/2 of us are leaving with little to nothing. if it weren't for friday i would have been screwed, but a bunch of girls went home broke friday too.

if you average that week with friday it's pretty good, without that day it's pretty terrible.

i like hourly as a guideline rather than a fixed thing. i've found it to be useful in stripping and outside of stripping in other 1099 work.

computing hourly on days of week, for example, helps narrow down which days seem to be better or worse for you (if any), so if you have to sit around a fixednum of hours, it will be on days you tend to make the most and not on days that always seem to be dead for you. it can also be an incentive to get a dead shift up to the same earning level as other shifts.

and computing hourly on a week's or month's worth of shifts is a decent way to figure out if you're making more and more or if you're making less and less, or if you're making a very consistent amount (narrow range of divergence).

for me it's always been a useful metric, but not necessary to get fixated on a specific hourly average. the few times i tried that, it was a hustling disaster as i obsessed about how i was 'under' or relaxed too much because i was 'over' the hourly amounts.

I kept track of my money very well while I was doing this full time. I had a big calender and at the end of the night I would right down how muc I leave the club with. so it looks something like this:
    mon 220
    tue 175
    wed 340
    thur 738
    fri 300
    sat 413
so I would have made 2186 that week averaging 364 a night, at about 60 bucks an hour.
I woudl do each week that way, each month ... you quickly learn that although sometimes you have good weeks and sometimes you have bad weeks, at the end of the month it all averages out to about the same. I dont have my calender anymore but I want to say that I used to average about 3000 a month at my main club and 7-10 grand at the club that I WISHED I lived closer to and had decent management.
When all the girls kept talking about how bad it was, and I too FELT like I wasnt making any money, I would check my calender and sure enough i was making just as much as always, maybe a little less but nothing to get lights shut off for.
This makes it much easier to keep track for taxes too.

At my new club, I only work a night or two a week We are employees. We get paid by the hour to be there. We dont have house fees or anything like that. Before you leave you tell them how many dances and tips you had and you pay taxes. Your taxes actually do go to TAXES. SO at the end of the year I will probably get them all back. lol.
So If I dont count the money I pay in taxes, since most of you are not discounting your taxes every night, I make about 50-75 an hour, well I have the only two nights I have worked at the club.

DUH jaizaine, do you think we are all making 75-100/ hour EVERY hour? No. I bet the vast majority of us are in the same situation, but it's still a useful figure.
It's not hard to figure out, either. You worked 8 hours and made 700 bucks, it doesn't matter if you didn't make shit the first 4 hours, then made 200/ hour for two hours then made 300/ the last hour, because it still averages out to 87.5 per hour.

If you'd asked me this last month... I would have said about $100-150...
I moved and switched clubs. So now I make $50-75 an hour. T_T

I originally accidentally wrote the wrong numbers. [300-350 instead of 100-150... I was totally thinking 'hour VIP room=$300-350' Lol.] T_T

I make $75-100 an hour. But that is also calculating in my hourly rate that I get paid under the table. We get paid $12/hour and can keep all our tips. We also get to keep $10 -$20 of every drink we sell (Ladies drinks are either $20 or $40). I work 7pm til 2am, thurs, fri and sat, and generally make about $65 to $70/hour pretty constantly, so I just added in my hourly rate to that.

But, I'd also like to mention that weekends in Honolulu are always always always busy. I worked one wednesday and I refuse to work weekdays again - I made only $100 that night, didn't sell any drinks and no dances either.

i know how to average ok it's simple math, simple enough for even an uneducation moron who uses DUH in a sentence to use evidentally. i just don't find it useful.

I disagree. I find it very useful. I always try to maximize my profit and minimize hours worked. I love watching my hourly rates go up. They are more than double since I started and about $5 higher this month than last month. It's good to know, at least for me.

Hourly averages are definitely useful. I'm kind of embarrased to post mine publicly , but I make around 35-50 an hour. I'm still somewhat new to this and I'm being honest. I plan to delete this post out soon. I am proactively doing some things right now to increase my hourly averages. I hope to report definite 50+ per hour cosistent averages if I keep at this. I'm reporting after all tips outs of course.

Leonna : Wow ! Your club sounds great ! If we had the drink hustle where I'm at, I know my money would go up. I'm just barely starting to get good ( and quick ) about being tipped for time in leiu of an overpriced drink.

^^^Don't be embarrassed. According to this poll, 40% of SW members make less than $50/h. It's definitely good to strive to do better, though. Good luck!

Fair enough. It's not useful to me though. I have no choice int he hours I work. I cannot leave until I get signed off and that's usually between 8 and 10 hours. So even if I wanted to turn up and leave during the busy times that's not an option for me.

I have to get there by 8pm and then I get to leave depending on how busy it is which is usually between 5am and 7am. It truly sucks.

It's just cuz gas prices are going down. I like that gas is less than a dollar a litre, although that's exactly why my upcoming trip to Vegas is going to less shopping filled than it might have been. Whatever, dollar ducks, whatever.

My average has gone up, against all odds. About $140/ hour the last two months, with my last five shifts averaging $163/ hour. Up almost 40% from last year. I can't tell if it's cuz I'm skinnier, or because I'm hustling better. Or, more likely, a combo of that, plus I'm not there as often. Fresher face, 80/20 stuff, I don't know. I do know that the less often I'm around a club, the more I make when I do go. And yet I still have what you might call regulars...guys who are like 'why aren't you here more? I haven't seen you in forever'. lol
