    Default Going back after childbirth

I'm going back to work! My audition is on friday and hopefully they'll let me work the rest of the shift.....

So it's been about 10 months since i danced and although i danced for 4 years previously.... I'm still so nervous to go back!

My question is... what was it like going back after giving birth to a baby? Did the stretch marks and floppy tummy give you away? Was it hard to go back? OMG!

I'm so excited but so nervous!!!

Congrats on the baby!! I went back to work only 2 weeks after having my son and I was sooooooo nervous, even though I had worked at that club for 3 years previously. The first night was definitely the hardest, it was tough for me to get back into my hustle (hustle hut should help you with that, though, lol) since I had been gone for so long, but I got back into the swing of things very quickly. As for body issues, I was a little bit heavier than when I had left and I was pretty self consicious about the stretch marks on my chest, but I just covered them up with dermablend-it works wonders!! Once you start back to work, you'll get back into shape in no time. Good luck!!

Like Rockell, my hustle was off. I took off a year before I went back, and I only had 1 year of experience when I quit, so I was still a n00b.

I was very concerned about how I looked, but when I went back, I had time to lose most of the weight. I'm still about 10 lbs heavier than when I quit, and people can tell. I'm going to start working out on my days off to get the rest of the weight off an get toned. I definitely don't make the moeny I used to.

I hope it goes smoothly for you! Break the bank, girl!

I went back about 5 weeks after I had my son. It was hard at first as I was a bit unsure how I 'really' looked...I had at least an extra 15 pounds on me! However I threw myself into it as I had a son at home to support - which actually made me hustle better. My self confidence was pretty crappy to be honest, but in a few days I got over it. You won't feel like your 'old self' right away but in time you will be the same as always or even better.

My biggest issue was the bleeding (sorry if that's TMI). It was pretty bad for me and I wished I had waited a couple more weeks. My tummy was a bit poochy however I kept my dress on (pulled it up over my thong and down oer my boobs) and that hid it (the club I was at allowed it).

As far as I could tell no one knew I had a baby so recently. And I managed to lose the rest of the baby weight while dancing within a couple of weeks as well.

Your body will feel like a newbie the next day - sore and stiff. But all in all it was nice to have some time to get away from it all and come back to your little one feeling like you accomplished something other than just getting a 5 minute shower in.

Congrats - you'll be just fine!

I returned to work when my baby was 2 months old. Actually, I found myself to be a lot more motivated than I had previously been. My biggest challenge was dancing on stage again--I had completely forgotten how physically demanding dancing can be!

My only problem so far has been excessive lactating!

Aside from my regulars who are convinced that the reason I was gone for a while was because I went to Thailand to get a boob job, I haven't received any 'so...have you just had a baby?' remarks.

Ok so my baby was 7 months old when I went back to dancing.. but I'm currently pregnant now and plan on dancing asap... but as MyButter says... the lactating! That was the issue I had when I went back to dancing. I worked at a club that made you wear latex on your nips... that was a blessing and a curse... it was great cause my boobs couldn't really leak, the latex plugged it up.. BUT then well your boobs need to release sometimes- luckily I didn't get mastitis or anything.
Best thing to do is stop in the bathroom and express out some milk as often as possible... wouldn't want to leak on a customer... unless he's paying for that! LOL jk

I wouldn't worry about your stretch marks... I have them in my inner thighs as well (btw I'm on my 5th kid), I also have them on my belly... but no complaints in 4 years of dancing! lol
    Just be confident!

I didn't start dancing until 8 months after my second child was born, so I had already lost my pooch belly and was back to my old self. I do have a lot of stretch marks on belly and guys very rarely comment/notice them. They are faded a lot (my youngest is 6 now) and I don't think guys care. Its not nearly as noticeable in the club lights anyway. I would just try to work out and get toned and not worry about the stretch marks. They will fade LOTS over time.

Were you breast feeding? If so, did you worry about the chemicals in the latex?

Yeah, I did. I got them everywhere. Inside of thighs, outside of thighs, boobs, hips and butt. I also gained a good 45 lbs.

Like you, I was self conscious about it, especially the ones inside the thighs as they are right next to the girl parts. But in all honesty, nobody really cares. I have not once heard a guy complain about my stretch marks. There are just so many things to look at on a women's body, that stretch marks aren't really a big deal.... It is a part of life.

Oh and I was the top earner at the club I worked at too when I went back after birth. It took me about two weeks to get my hustle back to normal, but my boobs were so big that they did the selling for me!!

Congrats on the baby! I am currently 34 weeks and cant wait til I can go back!! I gained 40 lbs so far, but started off at 98 lbs and my dr says I was underweight so I think after I have her, I should be able to return in about 2 months or so.. or Im hoping... I havent gotten many stretch marks.. a few on my sides and one or two on my tummy, but theyre really light and Im avoiding scratching my stomach at all costs.. i hear thats whats makes them worse...

    Good luck!!
