It's never caused me any harm by using my real name. The bottom line is it's a personal choice.

I like stage names. I agree with it being a part of the persona.

EXACTLY. That's why I use a stripper name, because Emily would NOT do and say and act the way that Robin does at work.

I thinking about going by my real name because when I was 17 I got my real name tatooed on my back. I think most guys are dumb they know that its my real name.

I used my real name for the fist year and then I switched to my stripper name. I liked having a whole new person to step into at work and I started making more money as Luscious because Lauren is not a stripper. She's a nerd and is rather shy, introverted and has a social phobia and that's not so good as a stripper. Luscious was sexy and fun and outgoing. It's kinda strange but I can only be Luscious in the strip club. I could never bring her home.

When I first started where I work now I went by my real name - and no one ever believed it was my real name... girls that Im friends with call me by my real name all the time on accident around customers. It doesnt bother me much. Of course its actually my nickname and not my birth name.

I have to agree with the above poster...

It really doesn't matter either way. It's not very revolutionary. And a lot of girls go by stage names because, honestly, how many Ashleys do you think there are going to be in a club with 200 girls? It isn't even a big deal.

Customers won't believe you either way. And damn I hate that about them, lol.

Whether or not you feel it is a safety issue doesn't mean it automatically becomes a non issue.
One of the other girls here said that her real self wouldn't do what her dancer self would do. I absolutely agree. Crys is not going to do what Elise is going to do.
Part of the fun of dancing is being someone else YOU want to be. One night you can be the bitch and demand they get a dance. Another night you can be sweet or sensual or whatever.
Use your real name. No one's going to care. And everyone's right...customers won't believe your real name is your real name anyway.
