Default Biden 'gaffes' again - by telling the truth ...

(snip)"ABC News' Matthew Jaffe Reports: Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., on Sunday guaranteed that if elected, Sen. Barack Obama., D-Ill., will be tested by an international crisis within his first six months in power and he will need supporters to stand by him as he makes tough, and possibly unpopular, decisions.

"Mark my words," the Democratic vice presidential nominee warned at the second of his two Seattle fundraisers Sunday. "It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy."

"I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate," Biden said to Emerald City supporters, mentioning the Middle East and Russia as possibilities. "And he's gonna need help. And the kind of help he's gonna need is, he's gonna need you - not financially to help him - we're gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it's not gonna be apparent initially, it's not gonna be apparent that we're right."(snip)

Yay! Joe Biden is psychic! I'm going to call him and ask about the lottery numbers next week.

The bad news is he is essentially saying our enemies see Obama as weak and will try to exploit that and that Obama's response will not be satisfactory to the American people, but that we should stand behind them anyhow. Joe Biden has got to be the dumbest person involved in a Presidential campaign since Dan Quayle.

That's not all he said. He also said that anyone "testing" him will find out that he has a "spine of steel ". I'm sorry but while not the brightest thing Biden has ever said it's also not that dumb.

Apparently Biden has been pulled off the campaign trail for some "reeducation".

Funny. That is my prediction too. Remember, it happened with Bush as well.

Of course, we the electorate, set up the challenge by placing all these idiotic rumors about him, just like in "Lord of the Flies". The challenger wants the US to fail the test obviously and if some of these idiots get their way, we're sure to fail it.

I think that is Biden's point, more directly stated.

I think that is wrong. He is saying our enemies see that WE (some of us) think of Obama as weak and will try to exploit that to try to get us to NOt stand behind him because WE (some of us) do not trust him.

And that is our weak point of course.

Our enemies will always 'test' us.

The last thing we need right now is an erratic President with a temper problem and a twentieth century mindset whose first reaction to any foreign crisis is bellicosity.

Are you trying to say they don't see him as weak, as someone who won't respond?

I would argue that they definitely see him as someone they can take advantage of. The only way he wouldn't get our support would be if he failed to respond to a national security threat, which seems ( to me ) to be what Biden is hinting at.

As a teacher, I have been subjected to a lot of supposed "school reform". A lot of that "reform" has come out of Chicago and has had names like "Annenberg" and "Small Schools" asscociated with it. These are the projects that Obama and Ayers were involved in and their theory is short on action and long on negotiation when it comes to responding to disciplinary issues in the classroom. If Obama applies these same principles to world issues, he will screw up this country and the world ( worse than it already is ) as surely as school reform has only damaged education.

I see him, not as weak, but strong enough to garner Colin Powell's support. Of course his judgement hasn't been tested yet. Neither was Bush's and look how that turned out (very problemmatic and yet unfinished). I believe they will test any president we can put forth for decades to come.

My point, again, is that is we, the electorate, perceive him as weak, the enemy will particularly perceive him as just that and even moreso. And the weaker they perceive him, the stronger their response will be. They must get a real bang out of the rabble-rousers who say he is essentially a traitor (muslim, arabic, supported by foreign nationals who may even be terrorists, etc.). If that weren't so evil-minded I might too.
